Great Service Comfortable – I have been going to Salon DeSante with my son for a number of years. The staff has always been professional and friendly, especially making sure we are both comfortable. Bobby is our hairstylist but I would be comfortable going to any one there. Our hair always looks great when we leave. I?ve gotten incredible shampoos and they have even gotten my son to try them. He loves getting his hair washed now. I would highly recommend Salon DeSante for their professional, talented and courteous service. Give them a try; I?m sure you will love it.
No one other than Frankie – I am from Philadelphia and Frankie has been doing my hair from over 15 years but I moved to CA a few years ago and I can?t find anyone who comes to close to Frankie. I make it home every couple months and the first thing I do is make an appointment to have Frankie cut and color my hair. He always takes his time to sit down with me and listen to my latest wishes. We review color swatches and the latest hair cutting techniques that he learned in Europe from his latest trip - I love catching him when he first comes back Europe; he?s always so excited and motivated. I always tell him, ?Do whatever you want Frankie, I trust you?.
I love going to Salon DeSante, the atmosphere is relaxing and I always leave feeling energized and beautiful! My hair feels great and looks so healthy.

Poor service, long wait – I tried this salon quite a few times. Each time I had to wait very long, even though I had an appointment. And when I finally was in the chair, Frank was doing 5 other things at the same time, prolongning my cut. I had grown out my hair and brought pictures with me of my new cut, front, side and back - and when I left there - the cut was nothing like the picture. And it took over 2 hours sitting in the chair. The staff needs to listen more, keep on time with their appointments, and not schedule 2 or 3 people at the same time.
Best color, cut and service in a hair salon. – I have been going to Salon DeSante for 15+ years now. In those 15 years I can honestly say I have NEVER been unhappy with services provided. I give Frank a direction and let his creative talents take over. I was scared the first time I went to the salon because I had other stylists chop my hair off when I ask for a trim, NOT HERE! They listened from day 1 my fear about cutting my length and what I wanted from my visit. There is NO one I trust more than Frank when cutting and coloring my very long hair. When Frank is away at hair shows Lisa handles my cuts and colors and again never had a complaint. You feel like you are family and very special with their one on one service. The salon was around the corner from my house when I started going there when they moved I had to travel to see them but well worth the ride.

I could have had a better cut at Haircuttery! And I paid $60! – I am a hairdresser, and I usually cut my own hair. (I dont work in a salon because I stay home with my children.) I hadn't had someone else cut my hair in over two years. I had been growing it out and only trimming it. It was finally getting long, and it needed a good trim and clean up. I decided to go to the salon. Normally, I go to Oggi in Philadelphia for a good cut because I could never find a good hairstylist out in the burbs where I live. I have a four year old and a 7 month old, so I decided to go to Salon Desante...supposedly a high end, professional salon. Well, I was told Lisa Sharkey was an excellent hairdresser. This is an incorrect statement. She is horrible. I only wanted to clean up my hair, so I wanted about one inch off all around. She took off about four inches off the sides of my hair and left the back long. When I asked her why the back was long and the sides were short, she said she was framing my face. HA! I have never seen angles go all the way to the back of someones head! It was absolutely horrible! She kept trying to puch the long hair in the back over my shoulders to make it look ok. I told her I did not like it at all and now she had to cut four inches off the back so it was even with the sides. I didnt want to seem too angry because I didnt want her to get nervous or upset and completely screw up my hair. Well, I basically had to walk her through the haircut, and I still ended up with an uneven, unattractive hairstyle. AND-it was four inches shorter than I wanted it to be. Remember, I had finally grown out my hair!! I would have been much better off cutting it myself. Also, I told her I wear my hair flat, and she could not get it flat - Even with a flat iron. It is not hard to use a flat iron, but she sure had trouble using it. A hairdresser this bad should not be charging $60 for her services. On a better note, the shampoo assistant, who never told me his name and spoke too soft for me to hear him, gave me an incredible shampoo.
did not listen! – I went to get a hair cut from Frank and let him know very clearly that I only wanted him to cut off an inch from my hair. I left the salon about 8 inches shorter. He seemed to either completely ignore or forget what I told him I wanted. He also kept me waiting for 45 minutes before the cut and spent most of the time discussing salon business with the other employees. He was very courteous, but that really didn't make up for totally failing to listen to what I'd asked for.
Worth a Plane Ticket!!! – I travel 3,000 miles (from San Francisco, CA) every chance I get simply to have my hair done by the fantabulous staff of Salon DeSante. Frank and his team have changed my concept of what a salon should offer its clients. Cool, sophisticated, fresh and fun, Salon DeSante has never failed me (a girl who did not get her hair cut for 7 years out of fear of foul play!!!) in stepping up my style, and making me feel great about who I am through how I look. I am a strong and versatile woman, ready to take on whatever life throws my way. Much love!!!
Great service – I am responding to the grossly overexaggerated and vicious review sent in June about Salon DeSante. I have been a client of Salon De Sante for over 5 years. I have never been intimidated or pressured to have anything done to my hair or to buy product. Their prices are comparable to the area salons. Because I have multiple processes to my hair during a visit, it can take time. So, instead of complaining I bring a book to read or relax and watch Frank's staff do their thing. I drastically change my hair color and style every year. Only once did I end up with a color I wasn't fond of (I picked it out!). Frank stayed and worked with my hair until I was absolutely satisfied (no additional charge). I always receive compliments about how fresh, sharp and natural looking my hair looks. I have referred family members, friends, clients (both men and women) to Salon De Sante. They all found Frank and his staff to be professional, talented and courteous. I will continue to be a client who wholeheartedly recommends others to go to Frank.
A Cut (and Color) Above the Rest! – I am a new client at Salon DeSante and now, a permanent one. Hair color is one of the few things you can change about yourself to make you feel "new" and "revived" (short of plastic surgery, that is, but who can do that every 6-8 weeks?!)). So, when I go to a salon, I want to know that I am going to leave feeling just that. When I met with Frank DeSante and staff, it was an experience I had never had before. Some stylists and colorists cut and color hair based on what THEY feel like doing, not necessarily what is best for the client. Frank spent a lot of time with me finding out my likes and dislikes, my concerns, and most importantly, my comfort level with trying certain colors and cuts. Not to mention, his staff, even those who aren't doing your hair, are there to accomodate your every need. Frank's assistant, Eric, even gives you a massage while washing your hair. I may go back weekly just to get my hair washed! And the fact that I am driving from NJ and the high cost of gas, that says alot! Needless to say, I walked out with the best cut , color and salon experience I have ever received. Frank is a man who has truly perfected his craft and yet, impressively, continues to educate himself to stay at the top of his game.
