Personable Spa and Salon – I have recently started going to Sweetgrass since I moved to Candler Park. I first started by seeing Kimmy for a haircut. I didn't request anyone but was very happy to end up in her chair. She has cut my hair three times total and I have referred her 2 of my friends who have also been very happy. I recently took advantage of a great offer they had for gift certificates they ran over Christmas and me and my boyfriend went for a couples massage. They were excellent massages!!! Seriously the freaking best. Everyone in there is so cool and geuninely nice. They really seem eager to help out. Cant recommend it enough- its definitely a locals place since it seems like everyone there knows everyone in Atlanta. Im happy to be a regular customer!
A cute 'n' clever all-in-one salon boasts two cool locations in hip 'hoods. – In Short
This all-natural salon, spa and wellness center has two locations in Atlanta's hottest nabes--on Moreland in Little Five Points and on McClendon in Candler Park. All-inclusive salon specializes in color and hair treatments. Owners put paid to the sunnier side of life and attractiveness by focusing on inner beauty through creative styling, curative techniques and a healing touch. For the exterior, services include calming facials, therapeutic massages, enzyme peels and Botox treatments. Also offers haircuts, style and color; brow/lash tinting; hair removal via sugaring or waxing; healing bodywork; facials and more. Check out Sweetgrass's extensive waxing services, cleverly called Sweet Riddance. Spa packages include three-plus hours of body care and a lunch. Technicians use organic and chemical-free products for the hair from Kerastase, Schwarzkopf and Sahag and skin care by Skinceuticals, Skin Medica and Neova.
Great Hair Job – Ive gone there twice for both a hairstyle and a hair wax and both have been fantastic. The hair stylists seem to move around quite a bit, but I have been more than satisfied both times with my color and cuts. I love that the salon area isn't a crazy mess and full of people. Its really personable and quiet, and much easier to relax versus a bunch of assistants running around.
The waxing girl has been there forever, I can't remember name but shes really nice and super fast. Basically the best bikini wax I have ever gotten since it was practically pain free.
Price wise they are reasonable. The haircut and color is only $100 total. I get one color though so I am not sure what highlights cost. The first time i went I printed a coupon from the website for a free cut with color, but you can only use it once. Absolutely dig this place!
Peace in L5P – I must have driven past this place over a hundred times before I even knew it was there. Its underneath a tattoo parlor and beside a vegan grocery store so it gets kind of lost in the shuffle of Little Five Points. Once inside of Sweetgrass you instantly forget that you're in the busy neighborhood of L5P. It's in an old rustic building thats been kept up well and the decor pays tribute too. The spa area is a fairly large space in the back closed off from the salon out front. The employees are all very nice and have zero attitude unlike most of the stores in that area. The soft music they have playing drowns out the sounds of cars and people. The massage therapists magic touch drown out your thoughts and stress. Definitely recommend this place! You will leave floating down Moreland.
Love to Love it – I love going to this place. Its hard to say whether my favorite thing about Sweetgrass is the fact that all the staff seem to like working there, or that whenever you step through their door you are treated with excellent, unpretentious customer service. Maybe I love it because I can get hours of amazing treatments and not spend a billion dollars. I think mostly I love it because they are so darn awesome at their treatments!!!! Dara is a must for massage and has been there for years. The hair foiks seem to change out faster than the body therapists, but I have never been disappointed. Definitely recommend this place to all my friends. Especially since they offer a 20% discount for referrals!
Funky Little Gem – They are definitely not your typical spa or salon. They're not fake, they're not wearing uniforms, and there is no Enya playing anywhere. I love the funkyness of the decor and the staff. I get my hair cut by Jessica and have gotten massages with multiple people. Jessica is the absolute best though she has been hard to get in with at time, and the therapists have always been fantastic. I have never left disappointed, but do think its good for people to know what they are getting into. This place is character, service and talent over production. Just depends on what you prefer when you're trying to relax.
Excellent exprience and impressive results – I went to Sweetgrass for some massage therapy for pulled muscle, severe stiffness and back pain. The massage therapist Shannon was wonderful. Careful and very skilled. When I left I could move freely again with minimal soreness, a healing experience. The salon is very professional with a cozy atmosphere.
Hip and friendly – I'm always on the hunt for a great salon/spa, and after moving to Atlanta from NYC, I've found the perfect place. The staff is stylish and fun, and they treat their ecclectic clients with equal respect. In addtition to their excellent stylists, their massage staff is outstanding! Two thumbs up!
Amazing Service – I am an avid spa-enthusiast in the Atlanta area and I've been to just about every spa in Atlanta. By far, my facial services at Sweetgrass were far superior to any other spa in town. I don't know if it was the aesthitician (Chelsea) that I got or if all the aestheticians are great. Chelsea was extremely friendly and added all sorts of extra touches like mini hand and foot massages during the facial. She gave me all sorts of excellent advice for my skin type and recommended particular products that would work great for my skin. Ever since I visited her, I have had flawless skin due to the facial and the products she recommended. I am planning on going back very soon!
Great Vanilla Bean Scrub! – I loved this spa! It is very cozy, the staff is trendy and very kind and the vanilla scrub was great! My massage therapist applied the scrub and then sent me to the hot, jet powered sprayers to wash it off. It smelled so good and felt like it melted into my skin! The massage was ok, but I must admit that I was talking too much and didn't tell her how much pressure. A friend of mine got her hair cut there and was not happy at all. I must say, it was nothing like what she had told me that she wanted before we went. Parking is limited, but I think the spa treatments are worth it!
