The first annual Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘n’ Roll Beer-B-Que” Presented by Miller’s Ale House comes to Seminole Paradise in association with New Times on Sunday, July 3 from 5 to 9 p.m. South Florida’s top barbeque restaurants will compete by showcasing their outdoor grill skills and offering samples to 2,000 guests.

Approximately 30 restaurants will offer unlimited free samples of tangy, spicy and smoked specialties and complimentary beer will be available from a variety of popular brand favorites and micro-breweries.

Attendees will be encouraged to vote for their favorite barbeque restaurant while they enjoy live music from several local bands including Florida’s own headliner Seven Mary Three whose Top Ten hits “Cumbersome,” “Lucky” and “Water’s Edge” took the country by storm in the 90s. A panel of local celebrity judges will award prizes for “Best Chicken,” “Best Ribs,” “Best Pork,” “Best Brisket,” “Best Overall” and “Most Unique.” One lucky restaurant grill master will be chosen as the “Fan Favorite.” The evening will end with a spectacular musically synchronized fireworks fantasy show at 9 p.m.

Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘n’ Roll Beer-B-Que” top sponsors include Miller’s Ale House and New Times. Contributors include South Florida Gables – Miami The Powersports Leader, Swisher Xtreme, Gold N Connection, K1 Speed and Ohh La La Couture.

Tickets for the New Times “Rock ‘n’ Roll Beer-B-Que” are $35 each or $45 at the door. A limited number of prepaid VIP tickets will be available for $70 and offer early admission, seating in an air-conditioned VIP tent, access to an open bar, catered food from Renegade Barbeque Company, beers from Famosa, DJ entertainment plus full access to the event.

Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood – I found the hotel to be more than expected in comfort and amenities. The food at every encounter was good to excellent. I don't do well with slots or any game but I found the site to be attractive anyway. The show was outstanding.

It is also interesting to me that toughbutfair saw fireworks on the 4th of July. Is there a reason the Seminole nation would celebrate that day?

Hard Rock Live - Great entertainment – What a great hotel and wonderful place to see a concert. Lots of fun even if you are not into the gambling.. I went there to see a Frankie Valli concert (at the Hard Rock Live)..he was great and the seats were not bad either. Only problem was that the tickets were sold out pretty fast at the Hard Rock. I got the tickets from "ticketsmyway dot com". They were really professional and fast to get me my tickets at the lowest price. Would highly recomend the Hard Rock for concerts and a fun night out.

Hard Rock Casino Hollywood – I found it interesting that "toughbutfair" saw fireworks at the Hard Rock on the 4th of July because they don't shoot off any on the 4th...ever. As far as the slot machines go I'm not sure what machines they must've played ,but I go once a week and I win most of the time. It's pretty easy ,you go in with $100.00 and come out with $150.00 to $1500.00 has been my experience. You have a good time and you make a little money. The shops/restaurants outside are very nice. The restaurants inside the casino are fine and service has been excellent.I've even taken my kids to the "food court" area in the casino and the outside pool restaurant a couple of times.Afterwards I head into the slot machines and spend no more than 30 minutes and I generally come out a quite a few dollars ahead. It's a nice way to spend an afternoon.

B(etter that) I N(ever) G(o) O(nce more) – Although the Seminoles have been trying to offer gambling for over a hundred years, they obviously didnt plan the casino or restaurants.

We went to Hollywood, FL to check out the fireworks at the Hard Rock Casino for the Fourth of July. We planned to arrive early, eat dinner, watch the fireworks, then try our luck at the casino. We arrived at the far end of the City Walk clone and walked past the standard offering of humdrum stores. Our dining choices were seafood, sushi, burgers or the steakhouse.

We opted for seafood. The kitchen lost our order; the fireworks started outside the window of the restaurant while we waited; the staff wouldnt let us go outside of the restaurant to watch the fireworks; hence, we saw the base of the fireworks while waiting for a mediocre meal.

Gambling in Florida is pitiful. Your choice is poker and slots. We tried out the slot machines and in fact, I actually won. Heres the problem. I spent a few minutes with the floor manager trying to understand the slots. They are all based on BINGO and the casinos never divulge your potential return on any gambling. I have an MBA and the floor manager could not explain how the slots work to me. He was courteous, but alas, Im quite sure he didn't really understand the details himself. Each machine plays against some other machines and the more you bet, the more you can win. At least in Vegas you can ascertain your odds if you want to. Florida gambling is nothing more than a scam: it is a tax on the poor and foolish. The manager explained that new laws will improve the slots. But will the transparency ever match Vegas? I doubt it.

Listen If you are desperate to give your money to the Seminoles, write them a check: Go to dinner at your favorite restaurant: Watch the Macy's fireworks on TV (maybe Liza will still be around next year): And bet your kids that they wont get all As on their next report card.

The odds-on favorite for a great time, South Florida's new wagering hotbed also rocks as a resort hotel. – In Short
A 50-foot neon guitar lights the way to South Florida's new gambling hot spot. Rock memorabilia like Madonna's beaded bra and Elvis' corduroy pants line the lobby; rooms offer a smartly appointed escape from the noise with cozy, foam pillow-top bedding and Egyptian cotton sheets. Lavish pool areas, a Hard Rock staple, are represented here by a swim-up bar, a lazy river and thatched Chickee Hut cabanas.

Service was top notch...room was amazing. – I felt welcome here from the minute I arrived. Our room was amazing I took pictures for my scrapbook. The slots were very tight but texas hold'em was a lot of fun. I will be back. There was a long wait for dining at one of the resturaunts at the hotel but we got right in to the more upscale one.

STAY AWAY (unless you have no class) – Simply a terribly run hotel built in the middle of nowhere. The casino is sub par (no blackjack or roulette and you only play against other players), but it is the very poorly run hotel that does this place in. The service is 3rd rate, astonishingly bad. The owners should fire management and start over with a new team. What makes a great hotel great is getting the little things right. This place gets them all wrong, from the valet parking to the conierge to the spa. The rooms are nice, so this place could be good if it was run well. If you like to be treated like a nussance and hang out with chessy people who even Vegas would reject, then this is the place for YOU!
