Reviews for St Francis Thrift Store

Over the past 2 years I have donated three times to the St Francis Thrift Store in Fairborn. All 3 times I contacted them they were polite and professional. They asked questions which I felt were appropriate for they business (quantity of items, any oversized items or furniture, best time for pick-up, etc.). Each time the truck arrived on time and the driver and helper were quick and careful in loading my donated items. Since I frequent the store I was pleased to see my items placed on the sales floor quickly and with pricing that was more than fair for the shoppers. While others may not have had the same positive experience I cannot speak highly enough of this thrift store. I feel comfortable donating to, and shopping at, the Fairborn St. Francis Thrift Store.

Wow - hard to believe – That is hard to believe - I have been shopping this store for years and the staff has always been friendly. As far as making a donation, I have only made one - a dinning room suite - but the response i got was much different - I needed my stuff out on a very short notice as I just bought new furniture-the response I received was professional, courteous, and prompt. They actually picked my stuff up the following day, and the driver and his co-worker wore very pleasant, and professional - based on my experience I would highly recommend this agency.

Don't Consider Donating Here! – Recently, I had completed a thorough inventory and gathering of my deceased parents houshold goods. After sorting and organizing all of their remaining items left over from the estate settlement, I decided to donate them to charity. Based upon one persons recommendation of a positive result from the Dayton store, it simply made good sense to use the store that was local to my area; which happened to be the FAIRBORN establishment. When I contacted them and introduced myself, the answering person refused to introduce herself and was extremely uncooperative in granting me information on whom to speak with to coordinate pick-up of LITTERALLY a LARGE truck load of excellent quality goods that were in outstanding condition. This would include numerous appliances, furnishings, visually handicapped electronic impairment aids, mobility impairment aids (including a Jazzy Scooter), 3 fully functioning TVs, washer and dryer set, numerous computer peripheral devices, etc, etc.

Needless to say, I will NOT be recommending this store to other folks, and indeed, I will go out of my way to insure that any folks wishing to donate will be strongly encouraged to contact Salvation Army, Goodwill, St. Vincent DePaul or AmVets. Courtesy, pleasantry and civility are needful items that seem to be in short supply these days. If a vendor or supplier cannot grant these basic items, then run, not walk, but RUN from them.
