A once in a lifetime experience.. – The first time I saw Blue man group was at the Briar Street Theatre in Chicago, and it was amazing.. The theatre seats less people than most other venues, so all the guests got a great view. I went to see them tonight in St. Louis at the Scottrade Center and was so disappointed (almost 10,000 people!!) yikes! They're great nonetheless.. If you're going to go though, and it's not somewhere small like the Briar Street Theatre, do spend the extra money on good seats.. otherwise it's really not worth it..
Definitely worth it! – My boyfriend and I went to Blue Man Group and had a blast. Kids will love the show--especially if you get to sit in the coveted "poncho seating" however if you're wearing something nice, you might prefer to sit further back. I don't think there's a bad seat in the house. While some people may feel that BMG is overrated, I really appreciated the fact that in the show, art became interactive. It wasn't just something to look at--it was something to be a part of.
Don't waste your time or money ! – This show is highly over rated. The three blue men play with and throw food around like chimpanzees for about 1 1/2 hours. Occasionally they make sounds by pounding on P V C plumbing pipes. I feel riped off it was about $60 per person plus $12 for parking. I could barely stand it the only reason I stayed for almost the whole show was I kept thinking this has to get better , but it never did. for your own good don't go.
I LOVED THEM!! – On a recent visit to Chicago, my mother, myself, and a friend from Chicago were able to got to the Briar Street Theatre and watch the Blue Man Group preform. They were fantastic. Without saying a single word for 1 hour and 45 minutes, their show was still able to wow the audience. I recommend this show to all ages. INCREDIBLE!
The Blue Men call it home. – The Blue Men
Since the fall of 1997, the theater has been transformed by popular performance artist ensemble Blue Man Group. The ceiling has been covered with all shapes and sizes of tubes. Audience members seated in the first several rows of all three main-floor sections are equipped with plastic ponchos to protect them from the occasional spray of paint and other miscellaneous liquids spewed or splashed by the azure-daubed performers (you can request these seats or request not to get them, depending on your preference). Electronic displays across the stage (and sometimes attached to the performers) spell out instructions for the audience to carry out.
A 625-seat proscenium theater with a 52-seat balcony. The lobby has been completely re-created into the Halsted Arts Center, displaying a series of classic paintings enhanced by the insertion of Blue Men along with a variety of tubes hanging from the ceiling and walls, through which one can listen to music, words and even the conversations of fellow patrons. Concessions are available in the lobby before and after the show.
neat space – comfortable space, intimate, great venue for blue men. cool funky stuff hanging in the lobby.
