2nd time, same as the 1st time, almost – I went there several months ago with a coupon that my wife cut out somewhere, but the register wasn't working right, so I had to pay for it without using the coupon.
I got several coupons from the Sunday paper a couple of weeks ago, and used one in Southwest Austin to get a large family meal. It was great as usual, original recipe, my favorite (though probably not the healthiest). I gabbed another coupon for a single meal combo and went back to the KFC on Louis Henna.
This time it was "the manager is gone and is the only one that knows the code to enter", and from another person "it has to do with whether it is a franchise or a company store". Hmmm, neither was in the fine print on the coupon. That explains why no one is ever there. At least I didn't have to wait for this service.
They seemed miffed that I didn't buy it anyway, after all, they had spent their precious time entering it into the register, right? Once is an incident, twice is a pattern. I don't care for coupon bait and switch.
Do yourself a favor and find another restaurant in this area, believe me there are plenty of good ones, and this isn't one of them. At least this time around I walked, and let the one person behind me step to the counter to break their monotony.
For more than 60 years, this all-American institution has been serving its signature chicken and home-style sides. – In Short
Established in 1939, this fast-food restaurant still makes its legendary fried chicken with the closely guarded blend of 11 herbs and spices originally created by founder Colonel Sanders. Modern additions to the menu include oven-roasted renditions of its chicken sandwiches, popcorn chicken, potato wedges and wraps. Classic sides include flaky, oversized biscuits, steaming-hot mashed potatoes and gravy, smoky-sweet baked beans and crisp, generously dressed coleslaw. Kids and adults love the "little bucket" parfaits of pudding desserts.
