lost a customer – Food is average. Service is rife with incompetence. Hours are inconsistent. Don't expect them to stay in business long.

Good service, average cuisine – Went there with my wife on a Saturday night. The restaurant was cozy and they had amenable music, which set the right stage for an easy-going dinner. The staff was friendly and serviced us promptly. The restaurant was 1/2 full. The food was served pretty fast - giving the impression that it had been cooked well in advance and reheated. The chicken was dry and salty. Beef was tasty and tender. Each dish had plenty of rice, but too little fried plantains. The restaurant does the job, but will have to work harder to beat restaurants of the caliber of "Versailles".

Lazy and Inconsiderate Service – A friend of mine recommended Friedel to me and my boyfriend the night before and we were intrigued to try it out. The decor of the restaurant is really cute and parking is very simple if you're going during lunch time.

The service, however, was very disappointing. When my boyfriend and I arrived, we were the only customers in the restaurant. The waitress was sitting on the couch listening to her iPod (which is understandable because no one was in the restaurant). Once we were seated, the waitress took her time to give us the menus and take our order (which attributes to the Lazy Service).

To explain the inconsiderate service, the waitress was watching Pulp Fiction in the restaurant with the TV facing our table and with the volume at full blast. So every "love" scene and shouted expletive was heard with much clarity.

I'm sorry, but when I go to a restaurant during my lunch break, I kind of want to relax a bit between work hours and not hear Quentin Tarantino directed action scenes with gun shots and "F you, F him" every other second. Give the fact that our waitress appeared to be a teenager, it's highly likely she is related to the owner and feels she can do as she pleases. If that's the case, the owner needs clean house and hire professional servers or teach their current staff to serve patrons appropriately.

As for the food, it was pretty good. I ordered the Ichiban Stir Fry and my boyfriend had the Mango Beef. Although it took a while to get our entire order, the food was pretty decent.

Highly recommend taking the food to-go or have it delivered. Because if you're expecting a Caribbean style experience complete with Bob Marley tracks to soothe your soul, look elsewhere because Friedel is not it.

Best Authentic Caribbean Food in the Valley – I visted this restaurant after seeing a sign "Under New Ownership" outside of this shopping plaza and could not be happier about my new find. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Ginja Lions Caribbean Cuisine to both people new to our island food and natives; like myself. It felt great seeing my childhood foods not only listed on the menu, but adapted for vegetarians as well. The prices are excellent and the service - exceptional!

Not the best Jamaican food. – The inside looks better than the outside. I love jamaican food and this place somewhat satifies my desire for it. Last time I was there they took a while to bring the food out, and when they did they only brought my boyfriends food, I had to wait for mine for another 10 mins. I don't think that is what most people expect when they go out to eat. Also the food seemed to just have been warmed up, not too fresh. Also they were rather stingy with the fried plantain, which is my favorite.

The waitress messed our order up a little and we ended up being the ones to have to apologize for her mistake. If the owners of this restaurant get their act together and improve the service and the food a little, this could one day be a great place to enjoy some jamaican food!!
