DO NOT VISIT THIS ESTABLISHMENT! !
Excerpt from my complaint to the Better Business Bureau:
I have been going to Artistic Nails and Spa since moving to Goleta for a few years and have finally come to the conclusion that this is not a language barrier. They are genuinely cheating the customers. They refuse to honor their point system (free mani-pedi after accumulated points) - stating three separate times that they already ran the card and it is too late and to use it next time. I again went to claim this free mani-pedi for the fourth time. They were eager to assist me until I ased if they would honor their free mani-pedi. Upon hearing this they asked me to come back the next day. They also try to sneak extra unwanted services such as parafin wax to increase the bill horrendously. As before I chalked it up to a cultural/language barrier. This is not so, they are deceiving their customers on a daily basis. I am finally fed up. Never going back.
DO NOT GO! – I've been here a few times because they're cheap for the SB area. Unfortunately I had a horrendous experience there last week. A man named T*** ( I have avoided using his name so Citysearch will not take my review down, I want people to know about this) did my manicure/pedicure and continued to harass me to upgrade to more expensive services. I continued to tell him I wanted the $30 package but he still asked me more and more. After this he moved me to his desk to do my manicure (not procedure, they usually do your manicure where they do your pedicure, in the spa chair). At this point he had become extremely hostile and mocked me repeatedly. My friend came to sit by my side because she saw how uncomfortable I was becoming. When I was turned to her he applied cuticle oil. I noticed an offensive smell and consistency on my hands and asked to wash them. As I was washing them I noticed the consistency was much like semen. Mortified, I looked at the bottle in his hands and it had something clearish/whitish floating in it. When I questioned him he discarded it in the trashcan and rinsed the bottle 3 times. I walked to the cash register horrified refusing to finish my manicure. As I was doing this employees begged me to stay and come back. I tried explaining what had happened but T*** defensively screamed in my ears until I paid for my pedicure and walked out. I called the police to see if they could come collect the evidence in the trashcan but they refused stating it was not a crime. I then went to the emergency room (after hours) hoping to collect evidence there and get information about diseases since my cuticles were cut open. The doctor told me that it was sexual assault and that the police should have done something about it. The only thing I can do since no one is helping me is warn all of you so I hope this review isn't taken down and it finds all of you well.
Good service – $20 for a pedicure and $10 for a manicure. Look at the economy right now and I think this is the best store to come to have my nails done.
Service is nice and everyone is so friendly.
5 stars for it.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE – I just wasted $50.00 on a manicure and pedicure at Artistic Nails. My nails look like they were done by an eight year old. I could have just painted my own nails for free and they would have looked ten times better.
My feet are still loaded with winter callouses. They definitely do not look like they were just "pampered" with a pedicure. During my pedicure, I was asked if I wanted sea salts in my foot soak. Apparently this is an extra $5.00 charge, of which, of course, I was not informed. The ironic part is that I was charged for scrubbing salts, yet my feet are still covered in dead skin. I even had to ask twice for a second coat of nail polish.
When I complained to the person doing my nails, he suddenly could no longer understand English. None of the employees were willing to reimburse my money for their shit-work. On top of all this, I was late to work since it took two hours for a mani-pedi, which should only take 1 hour.
the feedback from a review – I've been in this shops from the time they opend. I always have my nails very good done. The way I like here is the quick service.Because of being a manager at o food store, I always don't have not much time for nails. The manicurists are professional so I do not have to make any appointment to have my nails done within 30'.But one time, I saw some girls who got nails done some days before coming back to ask the manager for giving their money back 'cause they didn't like the service!!!! It's not fair.Evryone works n earn money for living! Think abt that, pls!
In addition, it's worthyt tobe patient to wait for the service if you don't have any appoitment because they're all hard workers n love working to get your money. And if you know who the manager or the owner is why you have to wait for her instead of asking for another one do your nails. Because of the person who is in charge of the shop, she has to answer any phone call
I summary, I'd like everyone who is interest in the value of labour should preciate the things that you get from Artistic Nails and Spa's services
great place for nails! – I'd like to let everyone know the best place for nails done. My family and I really enjoyed here. All the manicurists did very good job. They took very good care for our pedicures and manicures.
You can ask for free designs with a $30 coupons for both pedicure n manicure. If you wanna to share with my feelling, don't hestitate come here to enjoy!
don't have good services!! – The owner of this place is horrible! she is talked too much, loud, n on the fone all the times. Also she is doing horrible job. She did a full set in 15 mins other people are very nice, they did very good jobs! just except the owner...if you go there, do not let the owner do for you.
Horrible. – This is the WORST, and i mean WORST nail salon I have EVER, EVER been to. The service is absolutely TERRIBLE and the manual service is wayyyyy below poor. I had my full set put on by the OWNER of the chain. This is on a saturday. TWO of my nails popped of by picking up a paper that fell on the floor. I had to wait a good twenty minutes for her to even acknowlge me, and then another twenty for to even tell me people that SHE was helping me. Once she started working she got up again and started fooling around the computer and walked away to the back room. The nails at least looked great but she did a VERY poor job. I'll never, EVER return to any artistic nail salon and I hope people know how awful they are.
Awful customer service, bad prices – I was looking for an affordable salon where I could get my legs waxed somewhere close to UCSB and Artistic Nails and Spa in Goleta fit these criteria. When I spoke with them on the phone, they said that a full leg wax would cost me $40. Upon arriving I was hurriedly taken to small waxing room and told to get on the waxing bed. When I asked about the prices again, the lady replied that a half leg was costs $25 dollars and therefore a full leg wax would cost about twice as much, she said $45, I give you a $5 discount. Of course, hearing the price suddenly increase by $5 was not a pleasant surprise, but since I was desperate for a wax, I silently accepted. Midway through the waxing, two things happened. First, the wax ran out, so I had to wait an additional 15 minutes for the next batch of wax to heat up, lying there in a compromising position. Second, the lady got a personal phone call and talked on her phone throughout the wax. When she told me that she was done I noticed that she left nearly a quarter of my leg unwaxed, she just forgot to do it. Then when I explained that I also wanted her to wax the top of my foot and the toes, she told me that she would charge me an EXTRA $5 for each foot, since the feet were not part of my legs. Eventually with the tip and everything, this wax cost me $60; that is $20 more than I expected. I FELT RIPPED OFF and PROVIDED WITH A SHODDY SERVICE. And for this reason, I DONT RECOMMEND ANYONE GOING THERE unless you want to feel this way.
best place to get a fill and not have them lift – I have the worst nail beds on the face of the planet and when I left my fav. place in OC I thought I would never have nails stay on again. I visited over 10 salons in SB and finnaly found a good priced, great looking nail spot! I would reccomend them to anyone!
