Our first experience with KWF was okay..........we bought a bedroom suite and the dresser was damaged and had to wait on another one..........this last experience (yesterday 10/21) not so much. We bought a sofa table and TV console and picked it up ourselves. Both still in boxes and drove it 25 miles to our home only to open the sofa table and find the entire corner broken. I called my salesman who told me to bring it back today (10/22) and he would have another one ready for me.........my husband went to pick it up only to be told he would have to wait until noon to get it because the warehouse wouldn't load until then (4 men in warehouse sitting in chairs at the time). A little backstory on this - the table was in the back of our pickup truck and there was a chance of rain today so we had help loading it into my husband's SUV and while in the area for work, he stopped by (10:50 a.m. (an hour and 10 minutes before noon)) and they wouldn't give him the table and told him he would have to come back at noon. I called the salesman who told me he could do nothing about it.
Our salesman was at the counter telling him that's the way the warehouse operated and then one of the office ladies chimed in and Chris was telling them that customer satisfaction should be their key and they should be doing what they could to accommodate him since he had already purchased the table, picked it up, and through NO FAULT OF HIS, it was damaged and at that point, should have made it convenient for him. The manager came out and told him that he was right, they DID NOT CARE about the customer and to leave!!!
I had left a $100 cash deposit on a bedroom suite and told my husband to go in and get it we would buy the bedroom suite from someone else. They told him that the refund of our deposit had to come from the Parkside store and would take 10-14 days!!!!! He told them that was unacceptable and he wanted it today to have it ready when he go there and they said it would be 2:00 before he could get it back!! ( a lost sale of nearly $2,000 more of our dollars for them). .
We have already spent nearly $5,000 with them but will NEVER spend another dime there.
Side note: I bought a wall vase from Hobby Lobby for $39 that was EXACTLY LIKE ONE IN KWF for $199...........do the math.
Salesmen who are knowledgeable and not too pushy always make the process much more enjoyable, so five stars for that.
August 13, 2013
NEVER ever purchase from this store. I ordered a sofa & loveseat set on May 24 2013 - it is now August 13.
I was told that it would be 4 to 6 weeks for this order to be delivered. It has been OVER 3 MONTHS.
I get excuse after excuse why it has been delayed. First it was the sofa fabric is back ordered, then it was "Gee, I don't know - I'll get back to you." run around. Or "Oh, this is they way Broyhill operates." So why does KWF offer furniture from Broyhill? Now it's we don't have the other fabric for the pillows - WHAT!?!?
Our next step is to file a fraud lawsuit against KWF with the District Attorney or get our money fully refunded.
This is not how a business should treat it's customers.
Know who you are dealing with and what their history with former customers has been.
It's doesn't need to be this hard to purchase furniture. Especially from a "SO CALLED" pillar of Knoxville business.
Do yourself a huge favor and buy your furniture anywhere else but KWF.
Overall, very pleasant buying experience, and the couch is great. I would definitely recommend this store to anyone looking for furniture.
Great service and extremely pleased with purchase. Will be returning for another purchase next month.
Great... I just spent over $8000 at your store because of the service I received from Randy at the Parkside Dr location! He was helpful, thoughtful, knowledgeable, and treated us very graciously
Not recommending for Mattresses/Beds, this retailer gives run around on claims with problem matresses. I've had my mattress just over a year. We have big indents on both sides of the bed. Apparently they know its an issue and choose to avoid people, that have claims, Sealy says that the retailer is responsible for all claims, so as I'm going through this we will see how far I get. It's already to the point of annoying when everyone tells you its someone else's problem.
