La Brisa Mexican restaurant in Bacliff, TX on Highway 146 – Friday, May 18 around 6 PM. Food is good and that’s all that’s good.
Customer service is very, very bad. When entering the restaurant no one greeted us. A hostess motioned us to table with broken chairs where we sat for several minutes without anything except for the food left on the table and floor. The staff delivering chips ignored us because we were too far away from the bar. When our waitress with an attitude showed up, I asked her to clean the table and floor. To get it done, I had to ask the chip lady, who had finally came by because I asked our waitress for chips, to do it.
The hostesses all mill around the hostess stand with their backs towards people as they enter. There was five hostesses standing around and no one greets you when you come in – they act as if they don’t even see you. Most of the wait staff hangs around the bar talking to each other. Very few smiles on of the faces of the grumpy unfriendly staff. The tables, chairs and floors are dirty with tears in the tablecloths. Chairs are broken and most of the TVs have broken up reception.
I complained to three staff members concerning what I saw and the manager didn’t come over to talk to me about it. If the front of the restaurant that everyone can see is like this, imagine what the kitchen is like.
After our waitress failed to get us water when asked, she went to complain to her manager about us when we asked her what happened to our water! Her friend the manager looked to be sympathizing with her! I flagged the manager over and told him my story. He said he knew about it and that’s why he had gotten us an extra bowl of chips! Chips – don’t they come with the meal anyway? He was incredulous that I didn’t get what he had done for me – walked all the way over from the bar to talk with me and given us another bowl of chips! The manager never said anything about it to us until I contacted him. I doubt he even knew.
Apparently, no one at this restaurant really cares. Keep driving past this place if you want a good dining experience.
Fun and Food – La Brisa is such a fun environment. They have live music like 4 days out of the week outside on their patio. The Stuffed Avocado with Fajitas is my favorite! Soooo yummy!! You should definitely check it out!
Worst Manager in History – Today was my husbands birthday...what better place to celebrate...Great Food! not so the manager! We ordered the special" beef and chicken fjitas with two deep fried peppers...looked awesome, menu read great...except they failed to mention there was a shrimp in the pepper...highly allergic! Gee soryy he said thats just how we make them...not it does not mention shrimp on the menu...my hausband left and ran to the nearest drugstore for Benadryl since the restraunt had none! to add insult to injury we were told we had to pay for the cold food and take it home and put it in our microwave...no longer my favorite not even on the top 100. Just plain old rude discourteous manager
Consistently Excellent – La Brisa makes a dish called Beef Tampiquena, which is just simply delicious. They also make a stuffed enchiladas plate with 4 enchiladas; it's enough to send you begging for your pillow and a nap, after eating. Or try their shrimp enchiladas, which are also excellent. There's an El Patron combination plate, which has a great assortment of everything. Anything your order off the menu, is excellent. I also love their red hot sauce, and their green avocado hot sauce. Both sauces are served free with chips, as soon as you sit down at your table.
bad service – after a hower to get the food thay spil 4 plates fo food on me , the 2ed go round my food hes hear in it . the staff was bad , not a clean enviroment.
best mexican restaurant – I love this place. The food is so tasty and the waiters/waitresses are friendly as well as the rest of the staff. The food comes out quick and the margaritas are the best my fiance and I ever had.I definitely plan on having my rehearsel dinner here this summer.Everytime we come here,it's always a good experience.IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A GREAT MEXICAN RESTAURANT TO EAT AT,THIS IS THE PLACE!!!!And best margaritas hands down...Suzie
Step Into Mexico – If you are out in the Kemah area and have a craving for good Mexican food, try La Brisa. It's a short drive just three or four miles down Hwy 146 south from Kemah, towards Bacliff. I had the Shrimp Huatulco, which comes with rice and pico de gallo and a creamy cilantro sauce. It was absolutely delicious. I love their red salsa as well as the green, guacamole salsa that they serve with warm chips at your table. They have added a really laid-back, scenic outdoor covered patio, complete with a big-screen sports tv screen, a big bar, and decorative multi-colored lights hanging from the rafters. The mexican music playing softly in the background, really reminded me of being in Acapulco, or Cozumel. The service has picked up and improved here lately as well. Minus a couple of small waiter mistakes, we had a really super, laid-back Memorial wekeend lunch here. I consider it one of the better Mexican restaurants in the entire area of Clearlake, Seabrook, Kemah, Bacliff area. Oh, make sure to try the Queso Flameado as an appetizer or even a meal; the melted cheese dish with beef fajita meat is really incredible here.
Authenic tasting Mexican food – One of the bestest places to get the real thing....or as close as you can find around here. Great prices and prompt service! The only drawback is the shortage of parking. Well, there's actually a lot of parking, but there's a lot of cars here all the time.
Good for everything – My husband & I ate here Saturday afternoon. The food was great and the prices are TERRIFIC! You really get alot of bang for your buck!
A Tasty Value – Excellent. I went for the margarita special ($3 flavor of the day) and thoroughly enjoyed the food as well. Highly recommended.
