Overpriced, Mediocre, Small Portions – Don't know what all the hype is about. Think Bhabi's getting too big for his britches. Food quality is just mediocre at best; and, since we sat where we could see thru kitchen door, looked like every dish was reheated in a microwave. Very Overpriced; and, Very small portions. Much better Indian choices out there (e.g. Hema's; Udupi; or even Viceroy). Won't go back.
Super good – Excellent food, very small (cozy) dining room, very very reasonable. Our waitress, however, was a 14 year old who appeared to belong to some sort of high school helping program or something. Her little brother was running around the dining room, the table next to us had waited 45 minutes for one meal, the other came out right away. She took our order, came back 10 minutes later to ask if she had helped us yet, and the cook (Bhabi herself) came out to give us one dish, only to find that the waitress had not written down my friend's meal. I will come back because the food was awesome, but I'm assuming that the waitress will not be there. The whole scene was truly bizarre. When we were finished, the waitress took my Spiniach Paneer and asked if I wanted "that green stuff" wrapped up to go.
One of the best food, but hold back on desert – Great food, great suggestion by the owner on varieties of dishes, BYOB make it perfect, but do skip the desert.
I can't wait to go back! – The owner came to the table, asked if we'd been there before and how hot we like the food. He walked us through the menu and pretty much told us what we HAD to have - it was very helpful. The menu is really extensive, so this was an easy way to choose. We had one less dish than people and it was the perfect amount of food. He has two signature naans - onion/garlic/green pepper and pistachio. Everyone liked the veggie one, but the pistachio was about half and half. It was sweet, like a dessert bread, but he suggested it with the curries - I liked it that way! The samosa filling was good, but the shell was too doughy. It's BYOB and very reasonably priced. Also, the place has more character than most Devon restaurants. Can't wait to go back!
I still smell grease on my clothing – After reading reviews here I urged my friend to check out Bhabi Kitchen with me .
As soon as we entered the restaurant, there was a strong smell of burnt cooking oil. We ignored this and proceeded to order food. However the food was too salty that I found myself drinking glass after glass of water to wash off the enormous amout of salt. Meanwhile I was wondering , what the hell the salt shaker was there for. The only thing that did not have too much salt was the bread and that was the only item that tasted decent. When we left and after few hours I could still smell the strong burnt cooking oil on my clothes.
The Best Indian Food Ever – I have been going to bhabi's kitchen for some time now, and every time I have been there it has been a great expierence. The food is great and the service is amazing!! It is a family owned business where they treat you as if you were part of the family. I highly recommend this restaurant!!
Really Nice – I did not get to sit down and eat at Bhabis. I had there food. It was really pleasent. It had a real homely ora to it.
can it get better? – Bhabis Kitchen is just magnificent. The people are friendly, and the food is brilliant. Once you enter you get a warm and welcoming feeling. They have many variaties. Veggi. Tandoori. and much more. My personal fav was the tandoori chiken with sarsoo ka saag, butter chicken and bhabis special bhagarey baigaan. I highly recommend you try this amazing restaurant.
true taste of india – the food here was so phenomenal that i felt compelled to write my first citysearch review. the owner was welcoming and attentive, suggesting dishes for my friends who were well versed in indian cuisine. start with samosas and the different chutneys. butter chicken is great for non-spicy eaters. all of the tandoori dishes were tasty - not dry in the least (as other restaurants tend to fall victim to when mass producing food). all dishes were made to order, & not heavy on oil (a feat, when much indian food is fried). a tour of the kitchen as we were leaving topped the evening off. DEFINITELY the place to go for authentic indian food...
One of my favorites – I have to say walking in the door you are not sure what to expect. The place is small but the they have enough room and then you eat. It is wonderful. The best indian I have had yet. The owner is always wondering around making sure you have everything to have a wonderful evening. I have been three times in probably 2 months and I plan to continue to go. If I was with a large group I would definitely call ahead and tell Mr. Syed you are bringing however many people so he can set up a table. Great Place!!!
