Absolutely for Foodies! – I can honestly say that this is one of the best restaurants that I've been to!
I was visiting from NYC and have been to many fine restaurants in Manhattan and was pleasantly surprised to find excellent Italian food in Nevada!
The bread alone was worth the trip!!! We started off with the antipasti and it was right out of Arthur Ave.The size of the shrimp in my entree was large and fresh!!! Everything was made to perfection!
Enough about the food! I have to mention the view!!! It was amazing!
Finally, the service was great and the staff couldn't do enough for you!!
Not for foodies – My boyfriend and I went out to this restaurant Friday night for dinner and were disappointed. The view is nice, but the décor inside the restaurant looks cheap and cheesy (presented as fancy and elegant). We ordered the shrimp on a stone, calamari, carpaccio, rack of lamb, and crème brulee.
Shrimp on a stone- The generous portion of shrimp was well seasoned, and I enjoyed the horseradish dipping sauce. The presentation was gimmicky and the size of the shrimp leads me to think the shrimp are frozen and not fresh. Nothing wrong with that except the appetizer is $12 and the restaurant puts on an air of fine dinning. I would have preferred a smaller portion of large fresh shrimp with a unique element. Like most of the other food we tried here, this was good but nothing special.
Calamari- The calamari had a nice texture and was well cooked. There were two dipping sauces, a homemade spicy marinara and a sweet sticky sauce (not sure what seasonings were in it). The marinara was not spicy at all and its viscosity was way too thin for dipping. The sweet sauce had a great consistency for dipping, but it was a little too sweet for my taste. A thicker more seasoned marinara or a fun aioli would have been a better pairing.
Carpaccio- I was skeptical ordering carpaccio here because I’ve had some amazing carpaccio in Las Vegas. It’s not fair of me to compare Ventano’s carpaccio to, say, Carnevino’s (which is amazing). However, I love savoring good raw beef and it is always difficult to pass up carpaccio and steak tartar on a menu. Unfortunately, I could not enjoy the subtleties in the meat and toppings because they overpowered it with mustard (not mustard oil like menu states). The ratio of mustard and capers (and I like capers on carpaccio) to meat was off.
Rack of lamb- We ordered the lamb rare, but it came out medium-rare to medium. It had a nice lamb flavor, but the balsamic sauce poured over it was not the best complement to the lamb. It was served with an assortment of vegetables: miniature squashes, carrots, onioins, celery, and roasted garlic. I love squash, and the whole miniature green and yellow squash were a nice surprise. The celery was a bit out of place, and some of the garlic cloves were under roasted and too firm. However, the garlic cloves that were roasted to sweet perfection complimented the sauce very well. Again, the dish was okay but nothing special, and definitely not reflective of its $26.50 price tag.
Crème brulee- The custard had a wonderful flavor and consistency. They used real vanilla bean and it made a world of a difference. It was a good temperature, and the custard just melted in your mouth. My only complaints here are trivial and often done by even the best restaurants. The crust on top was a little thin and the strawberry pieces on top were not ripe. It is extremely difficult to get ripe berries especially in the middle of the desert. If they put the berries on the custard before sprinkling the sugar and torching it, that would help give the berries more character.
All in all, I would not suggest this restaurant. There are better restaurants in Las Vegas with the same pricing scale. If you are looking for good fine dinning in Henderson, I’d suggest Todd’s Unique Dinning. Otherwise, the valley is full of great restaurants more worth your time.
A Must Try!! – I live in Salt Lake City and travel to Las Vegas often, and everytime I am in town, I always make it a point to stop at Ventanos they have great service and AMAZING food. The prices are very reasonable too. Even if you just go for drinks, you will be sure to get hooked on the warm bread and dipping sauce they serve!! YUM!
COME BACK TO REAL HOME COOKING..... – I've written about numerous restaurants in Las Vegas.....my #1 choice for great Italian food is Mimmo Ferraro's (outstanding risotto and osso buco)...BUT.....if you are looking for a more comfortable, Italian restaurant with outstanding attention to Italian "comfort food" and quality...then this wonderful restaurant will become your favorite. This is the kind of restaurant that is run by people who care about their customers and "move heaven and earth" to see to it that the customer is, not only, happy...but wants to return and join the family that calls this restaurant HOME! THere is no need to guide you toward any of the dishes,,,,they are all made with quality and care. THe level of the dishes is amazing....considering, also, the resonable prices. The wine list is nicely arranged and is exceptional for its value....ask the sommelier, Mike, what goes best with your food. And, don't forget....when the owner/chef comes to your table to ask how everything is (and he will)....tell him that it's wonderful and you will be back. That means you have just joined a growing and very happy "family"!!

Gotta try the "Shrimp on a Stone"our favorite, or "Calamari", for starters. Best "Pasta Fagiole" soup anywhere. – If you like Italian cuisine, and who doesn't, this is a "must try". We live here in Henderson and have been eating out in Las Vegas for 16 years. Ventano's is by far our favorite restaurant. The staff does a remarkable job making you feel special and the kitchen makes sure that you enjoy the cuisine. Every dish is prepared and presented with the guests in mind.
Start with the fresh baked bread sticks wit some balsamic vinegar and olive oil --I ask for parmesan cheese and garlic as well. Any appetizer to follow won't disappoint. We usually enjoy the shrimp on a stone. The soups and salads are always fresh and delightful,even the grilled romaine salad which I had to try. I didn't think warm lettuce would be very good but it was delicious as prepared. We've tried everything on the main menu and each dish has it's own identity. My wife loves the Gnocci with pink sauce,my daughter always gets the Tortellini, and I usually get whatever the waiter recommends. For dessert you gotta ask for the "zeppolini" (sp) and ask the waiter to explain this dish to you. It is a dessert to be shared between 2-3 people and very satisfying to end the evening with. We take all of our visitors there and they have always been VERY impressed with the experience.
The ambience and views are incredible, to say the least, but we go for the food and the service. The prices are reasonable and the portions are very large, but don't go if you are in a hurry since everything in made to order, and if you know anything about Italian food it takes awhile, BUT WORTH THE WAIT!!!
Chef Arneault, the owner, always makes the table rounds to make sure that you are happy with your experience. He is a genuine person and really does care about his patrons and this is reflected through his staff.

I do enjoy great ambience, exceptional food,and exceptional service, which is why we go to Ventanos for every special occasion and then some. Try it you'll like it.
Southern Italian at its best – 05/11 revisit. The beautiful, modern restaurant sits on a hillside overlooking the Las Vegas Valley and continues to be our favorite southern Italian eatery. This evening we shared a delicious grilled hearts of romaine salad with prosciutto, the world’s best eggplant rollatini plus a pair of merlots.
12/10 Ventano’s is our favorite southern Italian restaurant in Las Vegas though it has been over 2 years since our last visit. We were served a loaf of bread in a paper bag direct from the oven along with EVO and balsamic vinegar. There was no need for menus as we ordered our standard meal; shared orders of spinach salad, eggplant rollatini and crème brulee. The spinach salad included red onions and mushrooms tossed in warm bacon dressing topped with chopped hard boiled egg. The eggplant rollatini was brought to the table bubbling hot in two baking dishes along with a side of linguini. Fortunately, we had just enough room for the delicious crème brulee. No doggy bag required this evening. Service throughout was friendly and competent.
09/08 This beautiful restaurant, offering incredible views of the valley, is probably our favorite for southern Italian fare. Tonight we shared a bountiful Caesar salad, eggplant rollatini and a crème brulee. Everything was delicious and service was top notch.
