first time try? – It's not for me, These is first time I did went with my friends and I did end on the hospital!!But I was thinking to giving on other try!!1
Decent food but terrible, terrible service – The taste of the dishes is ok but on two different occasions, we had a foreign object in our food. Once a piece of string about 2-3 inches long and another time a piece of sharp, jaggedy plastic. Each time it was treated by the restaurant as not a big deal and that is NOT the way to handle something that can make folks sick. I say stay away. There are other Thai restaurants out there. Plus, can't exactly impress your date or inlaws with objects in their food that can potentially harm them.
Best Thai in SJ! – I love this place. Their soups are excellent, their staff friendly and attentive, and their pad thai tasty and not greasy. I've had their iced coffee and Thai iced teas and they're very good. I would welcome the opportunity to come back and try more of their dishes.
Wow, Like being back on Vacation.... – This is a truly beautiful restaurant with a warm Authentic Thai Food and atmosphere. We enjoy going here with large groups and parties regularly and have tried many dishes. The food is consistently great! The vegetarian dishes are also all very good. The family who owns the restaurant are really lovely and fun to talk to... when time permits.
The specials are always exceptional and the deserts are really a great treat. The Beverage menu has a wide variety including Thai Coffee and Thai Tea and I recommend trying the Chimay Trappist Monk Beer from Belgium.
The restaurant has Live Jazz music or Thai music regularly scheduled.
House of Siam has all of the wonderful flavors of Thailand that we love.
not worth your $ – I guess overall it is an Okay Thai Restuarant, but I definitely recommend another one if you want some good Thai food.
eh... – the service was extremely terrible! our waitress rarely visited our table, and my friend ordered a bowl of rice that he never recieved, but somehow we were charged for it! the food was alright, but not worth the money whatsover!
Amazing Thai Food & Great Fun! – After the Wave Magazine said these guys had the best Pad Thai in Silicon Valley we decided to check it out. We had dinner here on Saturday night which turns out to be the night they feature live jazz. It was a lot of fun and the food was really supurb. The Royal Lamb special is amazing if you like tender meat in a mellow curry. We also had the spicy salmon which comes out on a hot sizzling plate. Are friends are from India and eat vegetarian. They were happy with the Pad Thai and the yellow curry vegetables with tofu. We all sat in the traditional seating area where they have these pillows you can lie back on and check out all the decorations from Thailand. A very special place!!!
I love this place! – This place is really good! You sit on pillows on the floor or if you want you can put your legs in the cut out under the table. The servers kneel on pillows to take your order. The place is family run which is always a nice touch. Sometimes the kids place Thai music too which is really cute. The food is awesome and we always like going.
A plentiful selection of savory curry dishes and spicy Thai favorites make this comfortable restaurant a downtown favorite. – The Scene
Located in the Pavilion, across from the San Jose Rep, this casual restaurant is equally popular for business luncheons and pre-theater meals. The colorfully painted décor is spotted with glass chandeliers, bamboo plants and decorative vases. Patrons dine at regular tables or take their shoes off to relax in the sunken khantoke seating area.
The menu features the traditional Thai classics served in large portions. Start with the deep-fried veggie combo plate, crunchy spring rolls and moist sweet potato wedges artfully seasoned with coconut flakes. The beef satay, sliced thin and served with a sugary, chunky peanut sauce, is a popular item. One of the best curry dishes is the chicken Panang: moist breast meat in a zesty red curry mixed with rich coconut milk and whole basil leaves. The pineapple fried rice, served in the fruit's prickly shell, is dense with still-crisp vegetables and bits of tofu.
