Bad bad bad – My husband and I both r Indians...v happened to go to this restaurant on Halloween nite..there were just 4 customers at the restaurant at 8pm including us!....we ordered Veg Fried rice and Chicken Manchurian...took almost 45 mins for the order to arrive although it was just 4 of us there...Fried rice was so-so but Chicken Manchurian was PATHETIC!! It tasted like some tasteless colored water...I have never had such pathetic manchurian in my life!! Portions were tiny...however our food was too tasteless to order anything else...would never go back again
great lunch to-go, wonderful menu and fresh food – I order lunch bowls for around $5 every week. The saag paneer is sooo good--easily converts anyone into Indian food lovers--and it is so filling. So for less than $6 (including tax) I can get a really good meal, which is cheaper than ordering a meal at any nearby place. I call ahead of time and it is there waiting for me within 15 minutes. The owner is really nice, the service is always prompt and friendly. I could eat here everyoday--as it is a simple atmosphere, not an overwhelming menu, helpful service and consistently good food.
A pleasant suprise – When I first started at UCLA I didn't trust much of the ethnic food in Westwood, but when I needed to get out of the dorms to satisfy my Indian food craving, Bombay Bite was able to do so. Portions were hearty (tikka masala was decent but not as spicy as I would have prefered) and the jasmine rice was perfectly cooked, but my favorite part of the meal was their mango lassi--creamy and refreshing. Though the restaurant was unusually empty for 6 p.m. on Friday, my friend and I didn't mind the silence as we were too busy chowing down.
Excellent Food – Food is tasty and the ambience is very good...
The menu has good variety...
I liked it very much...
best lunch idea ! – highly recommended for individual and/or group lunches. great food and service - and very convenient :).
SIMPLY PERFECT!!! – Excellent food, great ambiance, prompt seating, generous portions. The lamb chops and chicken biryani are to die for. Loved the shrimp bhuna, chicken tikka masala ? my favorite. We loved it, our friends loved it. We will definitely be back with more family and friends. They deliver too.
Don't go here if you want good Indian food! – I was extremely disappointed by the meal I had at Bombay Bite. I went with a group of picky Punjabis so we expect the best when it comes to Indian cooking. I think it had a Gujarati influence (no offense to Gujus!) but it was not Punjabi food which is what I expected. The only thing worth getting was the paneer pakora. The lamb biriyani was passable, however, it is a crime to serve chicken makhani that tastes the way it did! The vegetable pakoras were far too salty, the nans reminded me of the frozen Trader Joe ones, and the keema nan made me sick. I had heard so many good reviews about this restaurant from co-workers and students, but not one of us enjoyed it. It is by far one of the worst Indian meals I have EVER had!
Delicious Food – I ordered the chicken tikka masala and it was delicious. The portions are smaller than other Indian restaurants but it was the perfect size for me. I highly recommend Bombay Bite.
Worth every Penny – I was invited to this restaurant by a close friend for his son's graduation party. I was floored by the decor. The staff was very cordial. The menu had been preselected by my friend but i would say we have a huge variety of iitems to try. Loved the tandoori chicken, the fish and the saag paneer. My kids had a great time. The service was pleasant. Overall this was unmistakably a wonderful experience. At par with some of the classiest joints around. I give it an A+. Good Luck
bite not worth the buck – I have always wanted to try Indian food, so my friends and I decided to take our chances and blindly came here since this was the only Indian restaurant we knew in walking distance to campus. The restaurant looked promising; it was a clean, cozy, and a pleasant aroma. We ordered a couple of dishes, one of them being the chicken tikka masala with the garlic naan. However, when our food came out, the portions were pretty tiny~~ I was pretty shocked, consider the dishes all cost about $10 or more. WHen we left BB, I stilll felt pretty hungry even though we ordered a good amount of dishes. After taht experience, I've tried other amazing Indian places, and I won't let this measly experience affect how I feel about Indian food.
