Check your bill before you pay! I went in last week., got a menu of services and tried to make an appt for an 'Express Mani" ...the most reasonably priced one. I was told that didn't include any cuticle cleanup, which I was fine with, but they talked me into booking a regular mani so the technician could assess my nails and do the Express if it was appropriate. AOK with me. Went in and had the Express...but upon checking out to pay, I was charged double the price. When I explained that I had no cuticle work done and that it was not a full mani, the cashier said "ok, I'll ask Crystal" (the technician). NOTE: the Express Mani costs $16. She comes back and charges me $22.50?! I was confused and said "I got a $16 Express mani. She says "Well you had a hand massage for a $5 up-charge. WHAT?? Yes, Crystal put some lotion on my hands and rubbed it in. Did not ask me if I wanted a "hand Massage' (which is not on the menu of services). I was shocked and made mention that if a client was going to be given a service that they had not booked and that was going to cost more - shouldn't they be informed? The cashier would not ackowledge my comment - shoved my change across the counter would not look me in the eye then walked away. There is no transparecey here, as a lotion massage is often included with a mani no matter what the cost. I felt dupped and a bit soiled by the experience. I will not give them my business tagain
Beware of bogus reviews!!! AVOID
Avoid Avoid avoid, they seriously messed up my hair after $$$$ had to make a complaint with the Sta Fe Barber's Association, they continue to use the Sta Fe Reporter to give them the best of sta fe award based on some bogus voting. Management is absolutely the worse, (2 months and still waiting for a call) Aveeda should be aware of what is going on there. Not a lot of people take the time to complain therefore they get away with their bad service. An irate client was trying to get a hold of the manager as well when I was there, that was a RED flag, I should have known better. Shared my saga with Sta Fe women and 3 out of 4 had bad experiences there ;(
Horrible haircut, stylist doesn't know what she is doing. Didn't even know how to finish my style so it looked good when I left. Usually I expect to look the best I ever look right when I leave a salon. This time I looked worse than I looked when I walked in. It's going to take a year at least before this cut grows out enough to fix it. What a mess. Nothing I do looks good. She cut ridges or shelves all around my head and called them layers. They don't blend, they don't lay down and they don't style into a sleek look. Never go here. And especially don't go to Dez!
Best consistent color and cut in the state – Cindi Duran is a marvel. She is kind, talented and makes my hair look great! I have really shopped Santa Fe looking for someone that suits my "I can't be bothered" attitude about my hair. Cindi actually makes it look like I bothered without me having to hold up my end of the deal. She's also a pleasure to be around. . I can't say enough nice things about her in a short review.
Best Salon I have ever been to! – I went to RPS for all my wedding needs. I was from out of town and had a hectic schedule right before the big day so I was a nervous wreck that needed cut, color, mani, pedi and not to mention all the work i needed on the day of the wedding. Not only did they fit me in their busy schedule, they did an AMAZING job. Everything was perfect. They were fast and efficient and yet so sweet and welcoming. They made me feel like a celebrity. And the day of the wedding they made me look like one too. Worth every penny and more. And the owner is amazing!
Great Results! – After two bad experiences from another salon in Santa Fe, I was a nervous wreck when I went into RPS. Mary fit me in her busy schedule and it was well worth it. She was patient, friendly and explained everything she was doing. She colored and cut my hair and I love it. I felt like finally - this is what I was used too...the cut, the color, the blowdry...it all was wonderful. She is an expert at her craft and should be commended. I would not hesitate to let her do my hair again.
Amazing Colorist! – I had a hair disaster with both my cut and color. I saw Michelle at Rock Paper Scissors and she changed my life! She was able to turn a horrible color into something i never thought i could have (which was beautiful) and she gave me the cleanist and cutest bob haircut ive ever had. I have already reffered tons of people to her off of their compliments of my hair. She truly is an expert at her craft. She also doesnt charge an arm and a leg.
Always Beautiful, Stylish, and Polished – One of my co-workers always comes in with the most beautiful cuts and colors so I asked for the name of her stylist. She recommended me to Jenna at Rock/Paper/Scissor. Now I'm just a cut n style kinda girl, but I'm telling you, heads ALWAYS turn when I leave the salon. Jenna is truly an artist and I will not go to anyone else. Stay beautiful!
Best skilled stylist and GREAT cut! – I went to Jenna to have her fix up a horrible hair cut that another stylist gave me. She listened to what I wanted, then went right to work and gave me the best hair cut of my life! Jenna really is amazing with a pair of scissors and a razor, and she actually listens to what you want and does it! The atmosphere at this salon is so trendy and welcoming, I love going in there now! Jenna charges around $42 for a cut, and it's totally worth it! I'd reccomend her to anyone who wants the haircut of their dreams.
Best haircut I've ever had – I've had hair down to my butt since I was little and I've always been afraid of letting people cut it, but I made the decision to go short! Jenna took the time to listen to what I wanted and gave me a great stylish cut for only $41, wich is great for a person of her talend. I highly reccomend Jenna to anyone who wants an in style cut!
