I want opiniona – I want opinions....

I want to know if he teaches that other sports are bad like the other person wrote. I want to know if the instructor is one-sided with opinions and judgemental of people. Martial Arts can and will be great for my child under the right direction but it can be harmful under the wrong direction. I am checking all the local places out and getting opinions from everyone...

I want details people... msg me at harbinreunion@gmail

Not just kicking and punching!!! – I started reviewing TKD academies over a year ago when my son was having behavioral problems at school. I knew that martial arts programs were helpful in instilling discipline as well as self-respect. I was impressed when Mr. Robinson encouraged me to review other schools before committing to his program; I thought it displayed a healthy amount of confidence in what he has to offer. I now appreciate why.

Mr. Robinson and his instructors take a holistic approach to martial arts, teaching not only self-defense, but also focus on the defense of physical health (nutrition, exercise, disease prevention, stress management), and the defense of cultural values (tenents that strengthen an individual and a community- honor, courtesy, integrity, self-control, courage, humility, knowledge).

Two weeks after my boys started taking classes, Mr. Robinson encouraged me to attend. Afterall, he reasoned, I was paying for a family membership, it would cost me nothing more than some of my time.

The skills we have learned are immeasurable. Not only have my boys learned self-defense, but they have more confidence in who they are and more self-discipline and respect (both are star students!!!), I have loved the intensity of the exercise, but also learning to focus/harness my own power and strength. I can now do things I didn't think possible, or that only a few months ago were impossible. It has been so empowering!

I really cannot say enough! I have been impressed on the strong sense of community within the academy as well. The black belt students do much to mentor the color belt students, and I believe this is a real trickle down from the instructors Mr. Robinson employs, as well as himself.

Mr. Robinson has also added an intense kickboxing class (Kisado) for those that don't want to do tae kwon do, and is looking to add additional exercise classes (yoga, zumba).

If you are considering martial arts, or want a really good workout, with a holistic approach to health and fitness, you have to look into Mr. Robinson's facility!!!

Robinson TKD is the place to go – A few years ago a friend told me he was going to start taking TaeKwonDo at The Factory in Franklin and I told him I had always wanted to do martial arts. When I was about 6 years old I watched Kung Fu on tv and I wanted to be Grasshopper and learn from a wise master. I know that may sound a bit silly, but I do know that having the right teacher makes all the difference between success and failure, and the difference between a postive and negative experience.

Well, I started taking the TaeKwonDo classes the next week and that was nearly 5 years ago. My children also started taking classes. We would go as a family 2 to 3 days a week, working out and learning how to be martial artists. I'm now a 3rd degree black belt and I love it more now that I did then. The instructor and owner of the academy is a 7th degree black belt and senior master who has been in martial arts for about 35 years. In addition to the research and training he gets each year, he has also traveled to Korea, the home of TaeKwonDo, on several occassions to learn from those masters and learn even more about the culture and history of TaeKwonDo. Master Robinson's commitment to physical fitness and martial arts also stems from his years of experience as a critical care nurse. He saw thousands of dying people enter the ER each day and he decided that he wanted to help people on the front end - to help people get healthy and stay healthy and avoid that trip with chest pains to the ER.

Master Robinson and his TaeKwonDo academy are terrific. Franklin is lucky to have a school of this caliber right down the street at The Factory. It's great for kids of all ages and grownups of all ages too. The focus of this martial arts school covers the whole person... fitness, nutrition, and stress relief. And it works! I'm much more physically fit than I was 5 years ago and my doctor says my health is better than it was 10 years ago. The stress of work doesn't get to me like it used to and I feel great! My children are also more confident and self-assured and they feel strong in the knowledge and skills they learned from the school. The teacher does make a difference and my experience couldn't be more postitive. I highly recommend this school to anyone considering a change in their life for the better.

Just be careful, lots of brainwashing going on around here! – I recently noticed that my unfortunate negative review was taken off this website along with several others, and the only ones left were 5 star reviews. I am very fishy about this website now and will continue to now not trust this business. Wow, this takes nerve. This instructor used to be wonderful. Then as time passes you realize that as he talks himself and his academy up, everyone else that does not agree with EVERYTHING regarding life/taekwondo or any health things he believes in, then they are wrong and uneducated fools. Be careful, he will talk behind your back. If you pull your child out, you are an unwise fool and you have no idea how to parent your child. He knows best, so he says. Be careful what you sign up for, things change often along with the costs. PLEASE check into his instructors. They are wonderful people, but how much training have they had, just ask. He has stated to us that they are all background checked but is this true? Does he really require first aid for all his instructors? Ask to see all their first aid cards. An instructor cannot deceive you if you ask the proper questions. Make certain your child is getting the proper teachings. Telling children that football, soccer and other sports are bad and unhealthy is not the instructors responsibility but the parents to make those decisions for them. Adults, if you enter into this program, prepare for frequent changes of the program. If you are looking for traditional taekwondo, this is not the program for you.

Great! – I have been very impressed. My son has taken TKD for close on two years. It's help build confidence and self discipline... And let's face it, every little boy (young or old) will find martial arts COOL!

The owner has children of his own, which I felt help him understand and cater to my own. (In fact, all the instructors have been very good and popular with the children). Robinson is an ex nurse, so I know my kid's body will be looked after. There is a high level of good sportsmanship expected - I'm thrilled with all my son is learning there both physically and academically. I should point out that girls and adults take classes too.

I felt I had to write something after reading the other review, which actually made me laugh out loud - I could not disagree more.
