Two Consistent Problems – I've been a loyal customer of Sprintz in the past, mainly because of their good selection of quality furniture, but lately I've consistently run into two problems that have made me consider taking my business elsewhere.
The first is the utter lack of knowledge from the majority of their employees. Most of them don't know much about what Sprintz offers, especially stuff that's not out on the floor, and a lot of them don't know much about furniture in general. Recently I was looking for chairs and really wanted a durable fabric; one saleswoman told me she had no idea what the cleaning codes on the swatches meant because each designer uses different codes. Well, when I went home and Googled it, turns out cleaning codes are universal across the industry! Seems like a pretty basic thing a salesperson should know. For how much Sprintz charges for their furniture, you'd expect salespeople who could really inform you about your options.
The other issue is Sprintz' total unwillingness to EVER negotiate on price. Like I said, I'm a loyal customer...my sectional, queen-sized bed, living room entertainment center and living room table are all from Sprintz. Recently I was in the store to buy two accent chairs, but balked when a $200 up charge I wasn't originally told about was added on to the order. I've been saving for these chairs for a long time, and a $200 up charge per chair was just too much for my budget. I told them that, and they basically just shrugged. No offer to talk to a manager or anything. They let me walk away from what would've been an over $1300 sale because of a few hundred dollars.
I've contacted a manager about my issues in an effort to let them fix it, but have received no response. What I've learned from all this is that Sprintz obviously doesn't care about their customers, even loyal ones. I'll be taking my money elsewhere.
AWFUL Customer Service – I went to Sprintz because I thought they were a respected store in town with long history. WRONG! I purchased a sectional sofa from them for almost $3,000. When I put down the down payment I was told that the sofa would take 6-8 weeks to be custom made and delivered. Later I received a piece of mail about 6 weeks after I placed the order saying that the sofa wouldn't be done until 26 days after the 8 weeks was up. I was upset and called the sales person to ask what was going on. My sales person did not return my call for two whole weeks! After waiting for four days I called the customer service line and spoke to someone there. He said they would call me back the next day. They did not. I called again two days later and talked to someone else who said she would call back. The next day I finally heard from the guy saying the sofa should be arriving to me only 19 days after the 8 week mark.
I finally got the call back from my sales person and she said she would talk to her manager about a discount. I was content to wait for the sofa those 19 days and receive some discount.
Day 15 past the 8 week mark arrived and I called my sales rep to check on the status of the sofa and be sure it was in production. She again did not return my call. When the delivery day came and went and I had still heard nothing from Sprintz I collected all my information about dates and times I had called and who I had spoken to and called the store manager. It was now 22 days past my promised 8 week time frame.
The store manager acted appalled that I hadn't heard back from my sales rep and said she would find out what was going on and call me back within a few minutes. She returned my call within and hour and told me that my sofa was still not even being made! The factory was back logged and wouldn't start production on my sofa until day 38 and then they would delay in making and shipping it to me so I could expect to have it a total of 3 1/2 months after I placed my order!!!! The manager told me that if I would wait on the sofa she would discount me the delivery fee. I wanted to laugh right there! The delivery fee was $89 so she was barely giving me anything to spit at!
I demanded my money back and will NEVER darken the door of Sprintz again in my life and will encourage my friends and all of you internet review readers to avoid them as well.
I did go to Rooms To Go once I got my refund and found a couch exactly like the one I had ordered at Sprintz. I was able to get more for my money at RTG and didn't have to pay one cent more for a 3 year warranty, it was included in the cost of the furniture. Sprintz on the other hand wants over $200 for a 5 year warranty. RTG also gave me fabric cleaner and said that I get more free any time I want it. All I have to do is go into the store and they will give me all I want.
The huge perk with going with RTG is that I ordered my couch on Thursday and had it delivered to me on the following Wednesday! I can't believe I waited 2 1/2 months on Sprintz when I could have had my dream couch all along!
