To start, I am mechanically inclined, and have performed plenty of work on Hondas, Toyotas, VWs, etc. Trouble is, I live in an apartment which has rules against extensive automotive work. My car was due for a timing belt change. However, before doing so, I wanted a compression check done to ensure the health of the engine prior to dropping money on maintenance. Since Beaverton Honda is near my house, I called and explained that I'd like to have a compression check performed because I'm interested in a future timing belt job. They quoted me $100 over the phone, which is their minimum fee. A few hours after I brought it in, they called me and said there's about $4000 in work that needs to be done, including stuff that had recently been changed. For instance, he said my spark plugs were shot and plug wires were swollen; both were new. After running off a list of bogus repair needs, the salesman had to abruptly get off the phone and said he'd call right back. An hour went by so I called them. I said I'd like to get my car, and the salesman told me it was on the lift, and the technician was 30 minutes into performing the work, and that the engine was already opened up. I said I never authorized any work, and that I'd like them to return my car to me. When I picked it up, they tried charging me for parts I didn't approve of (such as a radiator cap). They gave me attitude when I told them I didn't approve the parts, and will not pay for them. Again, I am mechanically savvy... why would I pay for a radiator cap? So I bring the car home, and inspected my engine. The engine was never opened up as they claimed... the old gasket sealant was still intact and undisturbed. My rear driver side window no longer worked when the car was returned. As a final insult, they never provided the values for my compression check, which is why I brought it there in the first place. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE.

GREAT SERVICE ALL AROUND – From the time I walked into the showroom, it was a very pleasant experience. There was no pressure, no games and no drawn out negotiations.

My sales person found the CRV I wanted and it was delivered the next day. The 1.90% rate is a steal.

Purchasing a new vehicle is stressful(it's a huge financial commitment) yet Beaverton Honda staff made it as painless as possible.

I would recommend them to all.

Excellent Experience – I have dealt with numerous car dealerships over the years and was expecting the same old run around when it was time for me to purchase another vehicle. I was blown away by the customer service I received at Beaverton Honda.

I completed my credit application online because I have some credit issues and I wanted to make sure they could even offer me financing before I went in. I was contacted within an hour of sending in the application to confirm that they recieved the application and getting more information about exactly what I was looking for and the price range I wanted to stay within.

I went about my day and got periodic updates from the salesman who handled the sale. When I was they confirmed that they could secure financing for me, I went in and was immediately introduced to the Finance Manager who was handling my application. She explained the price range that I could look at and gave me a list of options from their stock based on the interests I'd already expressed.

I was able to walk out to the lot with the salesman I'd been dealing with, look over my options, test drive the vehicles and pick the one I wanted, knowing all along that I was approved. There was never a moment where I felt pressured or pushed or rushed to make a decision.

This is the first time I've ever left a car dealership feeling like I got the best deal I could get and feeling happy about my purchase. There was no stress, no hassle, nothing at all that was negative. I had complete confidence that getting me into the right car was their top priority.

Even when there was something missed in the documentation for me to sign - they went out of their way to hand deliver the documents to me so that I could review them and sign them without having to come back to the dealership. Now that's customer service!

Not only will I definitely purchase from Beaverton Honda again, I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for a vehicle - new or used.

BUSH LEAGUE USED CAR SALES MANAGER – If you need to trade in a car with a car purchase, I would seriously recommend going to every Honda dealership BUT Bob Lamphere's Beaverton Honda.

The numbers for the trade-in that the used car manager showed was so bad, it was criminal. Everything people hate about the negotiating process of a car happened at this dealership -- TWICE. Our family friend pointed me to nice sales guy there to try again but it was EVEN WORSE the second time through.

The used car sales manager needs to be replaced and will be considered absolute bush league amongst their peers. Try Jay Lee's Honda or Parker Johnstone before even thinking about going to Beaverton Honda. Heck, shoot me a note and I could probably arrange a better deal for you then these would even consider.

Amazing Customer Service – I totaled my car this past week :( My car was towed to Beaverton Honda. I spoke with Colin who was very helpful and extremely nice. I recommend taking your car to Beaverton Honda for any of your service needs. Great customer service goes a long way in my book and you will find that with this business. Thanks Colin!

Dishonest, bad experience – I took my car for one reason, to fix a factory recall on my plymouth breeze. After taking it here, it started having problems with the transaxle shifter, which was the thing they were supposed to fix. The funny thing is, it never had problems before I brought it in. They also told me that my transmission was leaking and needed a service because of that. When I brought it back, they did a 16 point inspection for free because I had a coupon for it and they fixed the problem they had caused. With the 16 point inspection they told me my breaks were low, my oil was leaking and my belts were worn. Somehow my transmission was no longer leaking though, even though I had no work done on it. My breaks were replaced a year or so ago, and I have never seen oil leaks in my driveway. My belts may be worn, but it is clear that the mechanics at this place cannot be trusted.
