INCREDIBLE!!!! – this place is truly amazing!

the fish is surprisingly fresh and imported from japan. the owner is open and friendly, always full of suggestions. even for a vegetarian, the dishes are incredible. the most unique and obscure options i have ever seen. it is a delight every time i eat here. i HIGHLY recommend sushi here. the staff will take such good care of you!!!!

Elegant Russian Hill sushi spot serves up fresh fish to a stylish neighborhood crowd. – In Short
An extensive menu offers beautifully plated traditional fare along with smart, modern tweaks on classics. Specialty rolls with quirky, locally inspired names -- like the 49ers (deep-fried asparagus, salmon and lemon zest) -- vie with a long list of impeccably fresh nigiri and sashimi, including a buttery toro. Natural woods and sleek lines make for an atmosphere that's simple yet refined. The crowd leans toward well-dressed couples on dates and small groups in search of a sushi fix.

Great! – The fish is fresh and is of superb quality. All the sushi chefs and waitstaff were Japanese, attentive and friendly. Very warm greeting when you first walk through the door. I spoke to them in Japanese and received complimentary appetizers and dishes. The sushi is authentically simple; none of the crazy rolls with 10 different kinds of fish and 40 different sauces. That said, there is still a wide variety of specialty rolls to keep you entertained and happy. I thiink this place is underrated...overall, one of the best sushi experiences I've had in SF.

Authentic Japanese food, from a Japanese reviewer – If you're looking for Americanized rolls, this is not your place although it is served there. If you're are true sushi aficionado, and would like authetic sushi that tastes like it does back in Japan, then this is a place for you. The freshest fish, straight from the same places that Japan gets their own, and highly recommended from one who knows what true sushi tastes like from the place it was born. You'll be hard pressed to find a similar place in all of San Francisco, and even on the West Coast.

The good stuff – If you are here for the sushi, ask the waitress or the chef what's special or what's fresh today. Never hurts to ask. Sushi places in Japan do their menu daily based on what's fresh, its only here that customers expect the sushi place to have everything on hand.

If you are looking for sushi rolls/dollar you can find other places.

not bad, pretty generic neighourhood sushi join – ok, so i was pretty hammered when i ate there. to all of the people who said the wakame salad is so good - where has it ever bad? probably the easiest thing to make, costco probably sells it in a huge bag. anyway, good, solid fish, good, solid service, just pretty standard, nothing too crazy or innovative here, but a decent stagger from my home.

Superb – Without question, the best sushi place in the bay area.

Unique items (off the menu), great service, and the freshest fish outside of Tokyo - highly recommended.

making an entrance – Not only are you greeted warmly when entering this chic abode the chef decorated himself. But the fish is the freshest in town, the owner makes a trip to the fish market every morning to buy fish for the day. Sit at the bar to recieve special treatment (samples of the best new fish), or bring a group and get served by one of the lovely ladies.
