EVERYBODY THAT KNEW SAND MAN KNOWS HOW GOOD OF A GUY HE WAS I REMEMBER I WOULD TAKE MY COOLER AND WE WOULD DRINK IT UP. HE ALWAYS SHOW LOVE TO PEOPLE IN NEED. SAN MAN YOU WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBER FOR ALL THE GOOD THINGS YOU DID DURING YOUR TIME HERE ON EARTH AND OF COURSE ALL OF YOUR TATTOOS YOU DID TO A LOT OF PEOPLE HERE IN H-TOWN. SOMETIMES I DRIVE BY AND PARK BY YOUR SHOP AND JUST REMEMBER ALL THEM CRAZY AND FUNNY TIMES WE HAD AT YOUR SHOP. BLACK WIDOWS WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBER BY SAN MAN'S SHOP NOBODY WILL EVER REPLACE HIS SHOP.

Sandman was Like my brother. No i wasnt as close as my brother vince and Eddie Were But I cared! I introduced him To all my friends and Got every single one of my tats done there! Never went anywhere else .Sandman use to tell me that if I went anywhere else he would Hurt my next one worse than ever. I remeber when i went in to black widow When i was Prego With My Ex Room Mates and Ex Fiance . He use To pick on me and tell me how Huge I was AND THis and That I miss HIm Soo Much everything Reminds Me of him ! I can drive by the shop or hear a song and I think of him I cant even. GO to another Tat parlor without feeling like he is standing over me telling me dont get one Ill make sure it hurts !! :( I MISS YOU SANMAN MAY YOU REST IN PEACE FOR EVER

Death. It has been 7 weeks since he was taken from me. We were engaged for a time and I loved him like no other. We realized we were not to be married, but loved one another like no other. He still would have very much been apart of my life had his life not been stolen like it was from all of us. He was taken exactly 12 hours before I left Houston. I realize now he was a true man and NO other will EVER replace him or the love I have for him.
I MISS YOU UNCLE STEVE.
STEVE WAS MY STEPDADS BROTHER. I NEW UNCLE STEVE AND I NEW WHAT KIND OF GUY HE WAS AND HE WAS AMAZING. IT STINKS THAT PEOPLE HAVE TO TURN TO VIOLENCE TO SOLVE THERE ISSUES. LORD LET THE POLICE KETCH THE PEOPLE WHO SHOT HIM AND PUT THEM ON DEATH ROW THEY DONT DESERVE TO BE ALIVE. WITH UNCLE STEVES DEATH THE FAMILY HAS BEEN SO TORE UP. ITS ALREADY BEEN A MONTH TODAY AND IT IS REALLY HARD STILL. WE HAVE ALL HIS STUFF UP HERE IN MICHIGAN AND ITS HARD TO GO THROUGH IT. I WANTED HIM TO GIVE ME MY FIRST TATTOO BUT KNOW HE CANT. SO I WONT TO GET SOME OF HIS ART TATED ON ME.
ALL I NOW IS I REALLY TRUELY DO MISS MY UNCLE STEVE. I WISH I COULD HAVE THE CHANCE TO TELL HIM HOW MUCH I TRULY DO CARE ABOUT HIM.
Steve I will miss you.....forever.
I went to Sandman for all my piercings and tats. He did an extra special one for me. My sister had died and she loved butterflys. Sandman suggested I get a butterfly for my sister. I agreed and he wouldn't take any money for it. Steve was my friend, my touchstone, and my rock. I miss him dearly but I know I have him on my skin as well as in my heart forever. I love you babe.

R.I.P. Sandman. I only had the chance to know him for a short time. He came in to Randalls (I was a cashier there) we talked about tatoo's for a while then told him about my boyfriend who wanted to tattoo also. Long story short my boyfriend went to his shop. They talked and Sandman taught him so much. I thought my boyfriend was bothering him by going up there so much but sandman said it was fine. Sandman motivated my boyfriend so much.Told him to keep tattin don'tgive up........We all miss you. R.I.P.

I met Sandman back in the day when I frequented the Perfect Rack.....I stopped by everyday to say hello and see how things were going at Black Widow. I loved talking to him and listening to what he had to say! There was this way that he spoke about things that meant something to him. He always made me feel right at home everytime I walked in the shop.
I always swore that he would be THE ONE to put my first tattoo on me..cuz his work is so good....but I never worked up the nerve to get the one he swore he was gonna put on me. I remember he would laugh at me and tell me to stop being scared and just let him do the work.......that is my biggest regret now. Love u Sandman! You are missed dearly!!! :-(
my freind. my name is john i was a former employee of steave and a great artist well what can i say steave was a good guy just hung out with the wrong crowd i have gotten him out of trouble lots of times sorry stacy for your loss take care and good luck with the shop
RIP Steve..
What hasn't been said about Steve that isn't obvious. He was a good and sweet man who tried to change his life and made it. I'm not going to talk about the murderers because it would be a waste of time. Steve understood people and tried his best to give his best.
We'll miss you Steve.
PERSONAL TATTOO EXPERIENCE WITH HEART AND SOUL!.
I went to Black Widow for the first time only days after hurricane Ike. I didn't have power and hung out with some friends at a local bar the night before where someone gave me a card for the shop. Impressed with the card since it had a logo for H.P.D. supporting the Brotherhood, and declaring Sandman "The best around!" His shop was the only spot in town with electricity, definitely a good sign! I walked in and found this to be a one man business, clean, modern, and comfortable.
A large flat screen TV hung over an enormous salt water aquarium next to a beautiful hand carved altar to The Virgin Mary. That's when I met Sandman... I told him I always wanted a tattoo with my sons' names on my back or arm but wasn't final on the location and I wanted sparrows. He told me the ones on the wall were kinda modern and I explained that I wanted an old school style tat. He disappeared in the back and returned with a Sailor Jerry book. That was it! I was in love!!! My sparrows are the best tats on my body and by far my favorite. He walked me through the process step by step opening needles and explaining batch numbers. He was sweet, reassuring, and even added some color to another tat I had on my back to compliment the new ink. I have recommended Black Widow to all my friends. A definite A++
