The Most Beautiful Eye Frames – The inventory of eye wear is so unique. There is a special frame for everyone at this beautiful store. The staff are fun people who love to laugh and are serious about their product.
It has been the best experience ever buying eye frames. Now, for the first time, I enjoy wear eyeglasses. I receive endless compliments.
The only drawback is that I didn't want to leave the lovely store because of the elegant and warm decor and staff!!
Brilliance in Vision and Service – After dropping a hand mirror and managing to break my old pair of glasses down the middle (picture Harry Potter-style, held together with duct tape instead of a magical spell), I was in desperate need of a new pair of spectacles. A friend of mine had visited OTTICA a couple years before, and I had been impressed with the quality of frames, the level of service and the knowledge of the staff.
When I went in as a customer, I was again impressed - superbly impressed! Choosing my glasses was not only an excursion in picking a fun frame, but also an education in metals and finishes and colors. Lorali, the shop's owner and the designer of my frames, fawned over me and made choosing my glasses a community event, drawing on the opinions of other customers in the shop and other members of her staff. Her knowledgeable opinion was well worth my trip to OTTICA.
The best part was that, after I realized my prescription had been mis-calculated, OTTICA bent over backwards to turn around a new set of lenses in under 24 hours so I would have them before leaving for a weekend trip to Mt. Baker. I could not have been more surprised or more grateful.
This is a shop that truly understands the meaning of a marvelous customer experience. And you'll continually be fielding the question, "WHERE did you find those stunning frames?"
NEVER AGAIN!!!!! – Liars and crooks! Save your money and your dignity and go elsewhere. They do not stand by their own store policies and customers stand below their own whims.
the perfect fit – This is my first time posting a review on citysearch, but I was so impressed with my experience, I want everyone to know about place!
My ultra hip and fabulous hairstylists recommended this amazing optical boutique to me so I thought I would stop in and give them a try. Immediately upon entering I was greeted by a smiling and friendly staff who asked me if it was time for something new. I wasn't sure if it necessarily was, but I wasn't going to say no if the right pair fell into my lap, or... onto my nose in this case! Minutes later I was in front of the mirror in something totally unlike what I thought I would be interested in, and it was perfect. They talked to me and asked what I did for work, and found me the perfect pair. TWO pairs, in fact! My budget was only for one pair, so I only purchased the more versatile of the 2, but have since purchased the second pair.
They are an incredibly warm, inviting, and friendly group of knowledgeable people who will invite you to admire other customers frames and chime in with your opinion. They understand budget, and offer some amazingly cool styles for those of us who count all our pennies. And the quality is UNSURPASSED. They even suggested NOT getting high index on one of my frames (which is a $100 upsell!) because my VISION QUALITY would be Better! Their honesty was really appreciated in all aspects of my buying experience, and they offered to let me put the frame on layaway to make the purchasing a little easier. I just can't say anything bad about this store at all. Well, other than that it's a drive into the city for me, but I wouldn't buy my glasses anywhere else now.
Great frames, great staff. Best in town, bar none. – Not sure who these "snotty staff" were that people talked to. The wife and I had top-notch service; friendly, courteous and knowledgable. Yes, they will try to stop you from buying frames that don't work for your face, even if you seem to be in love with the frames in question. Perhaps that is considered "snotty" these days but judging from the glasses most people wear I would think this kind of assistance should be REQUIRED.
As to frame selection, they have the best I've found. I tried nearly every place in town looking for even a single frame I didn't hate, but Ottica presented me with an amazing assortment of choices (and at half the price of Market Optical, the only other place I've found with an at all fashion-forward eye for selecting frames to sell).
But hey, if you just want some plain, wire-rimmed, dime-a-dozen frames go to LensCrafters (or petty much any other shop in town). If you have some style and want something bold, fresh and with an edge, go to Ottica.
No frumpy frames here ... – In a world of style homogenization and the mall-ing of America, OTTICA has brought to Seattle a place where we no longer have to view glasses as a prescription but as an extension of our own personality. I have purchased several pairs from them and I have to tell you that their customer service is hands down, Top Drawer! Their honesty, respectfulness, expertise and willingness to work with your budget are refreshing. I have never felt pressured to buy something that I did not like ... all boundaries were respected. I want frames with style and sometimes I need their help refining those everyday accents like spectacles. I appreciate the opinions of all of their staff and find them to be incredibly kind and straight-forward.
If you are not willing to at least try on something different then don?t bother ... just go to the mall, buy off-the-rack and join the lemmings.
Some cool glasses, lots of snotty staff – If you have any personal taste or opinions on what you like, you may find this place frustrating. If you have no ability to choose what sits on your face, and think someone else should make the decision entirely for you, then you will love it here. I know I like plastic glasses. I don't like glasses with nose holders. So I told them that when I came in. Five seconds later, the woman who owns it is pushing the other kind on me. So I politely tell her I'm sure I want plastic glasses.
To which she assures me "She's been doing this for 17 years and she's an expert... bla bla bla." She seemed fairly insulted that I should have any of my own opinions and said "Our policy here is that when there is a difference in opinion, we are always right." I would have liked some advice within the parameters of what I was looking for, but I don't need snooty store owners telling me exactly what I should like.
Stylish frames; nice, knowledgeable owners; snotty employee – I used to really like Ottica. Six months ago, I would have said Ottica had stylish frames and were priced better than some of the other shops in the area. I've bought 3 pairs of glasses there and really like the two owners, Lorelai and Arlene. However, while they were on a buying spree to Europe, I had the "pleasure" of working with someone who needs a bit more customer service training.
A couple of weeks before I was to leave for a winter break in Hawaii, I realized I couldn't find my prescription sunglasses. So, I went to Ottica.
I looked at all their frames, detouring from my usual black frame librarian look, because these were sunglasses. As I tried on a pair of green frames, the sales boy (and I use the term with the most derogotory meaning after this encounter), came up to me and said, "It would be a shame to put colored lenses in those frames."
"Frankly this would be the only way I would wear these frames," I replied.
"Perhaps you should be more fashion forward. We are a very fashion forward shop," he said.
"Thank you, " I said. And I walked down the street to Spex, where I found a fun pair of frames in the same price range and didn't have to hassle with attitude.
Arlene, the owner, called me and apologized for the poor service. The sales clerk is still employed there, but, again, the owners are nice and knowledgeable. They tell you whether the frame fits your face -- and whether it looks good. The apology was very nice and professional and I will consider going back if I can work with either Arlene or Lorelai.
Ottica Seattle - Trendy and Personable – Ottica Seattle is trendy and quite European in styling so I was sure that I couldn't afford anything and that they'd have nothing for me but what the heck.
The owners are very knowledgeable and HONEST. My head is large and it's hard to find eyewear that fits AND looks good. I've never considered a classic European look before since I normally stick with sporty styles but they helped find a few pairs that looked great for my head shape and body size. They cut my without a long wait whatsoever (took 15 minutes!).
I have always wanted eyewear personnel to give me honest feedback but I usually got "oh, that looks good, sure" regarding virtually every piece of eyewear. The ladies here told me what would and what would not look good on me even if the one that fit nicer didn't look as good.
