Another Reno/Sparks Business Bites the Dust. I am sad, went to get a pizza and they are gone, closed up and gone!!! Time to move out of this place, how am I going to get my NY pizza fix now?
Amazing Food & People.
Amazing food, awesome people, incredible quality. Being from the Bronx, New York my husband and I saw this place, did our usual eye-roll and said "yea ok, we'll see". The best thing in the world to be wrong about, Big Apple Pizza was seriously just like home from the food to the owners. No BS, tell it like it is food and people...ahhhhhh, perfection in a store!
If you've never been to NY and you can't tell the difference anyway, you won't be disappointed by any means. The food pops with flavor, the ambiance is comfortable and warm and the people are hilariously, no-holds-barred real. We have since left Nevada and are in the land of fruits and nuts in California but we stop in to the Big Apple Pizza shop every single time we are in the Reno area.
awsome stromboli. After reading all tha reviews i had to check this place out. The stromboli is the bees knees I definatly will be going back soon!! Nice people, good eats, and reasonable price you gotta try it out if you love italian cuisine.
Made my day 10 times better :). Today was my first day of experiencing what a true slice of pizza tastes like. Not only was the food delicious, but the people working there are so fun and kind. Even though I had never been there before, I felt like I had been a valued customer for years. It is so welcoming. I even got to learn how to make homemade cheese. The best I have ever tasted. They have made a customer for life out of me :)
Best Slice of pizza in the West!.
This is the best slice of pizza, calzone, hoagie rolls...ANYTHING YOU ORDER! You won't find a better place this side of New York that serves their food completely handmade in house, with a sense of humor only found in the East Coast, and for cheap!
I got two slices of pizza today: one pepperoni and one cheese. After I ate it, the owner invited me to the back to see them make their own mozzarella directly from the curd. I highly recommend anyone and everyone to get out in Sparks on Baring Blvd and order from Big Apple Pizza. Sit down, take a load off, talk with the owners and see why this is the best pizza shop in the West!
Absolutely incredible food - great options for celiacs too. The food is absolutely delicious!! We ordered a pepperoni pizza, stromboli and a sub sandwich. Everything was soooo good - it was hard to stop eating it was so good. Great thin, NY-style crust. Stromboli was to die for - huge portions so we had leftovers. My mom has celiac disease and they had a very good GF pizza. They were so in tune with cooking GF... we had absolutely no worries about cross-contamination like you do when you go out to many restaurants. Very friendly staff - great interactions with the customers. We loved it!
Best stromboli in the world!. This is the best pizza place in Reno/Sparks by far. Everything is made fresh and they use quality products. They are from New York and have that New York "toughness", but they are awesome people and really great. If you want great pizza, you have to try them. If you have never had stromboli...it's a must! It's by far the best we've ever had!!!
Great Place for Real Italian Pizza!!!. after reading all of the great reviews and some of the bad ones, we decided we needed to try it ourselves. my husband is italian and his family came from italy and moved to new york. we have always wanted to try the new york pizza that everyone had been talking about and was excited that we had the chance to do so in nevada!! the second we walked in we were warmly welcomed and the staff helped us order their specialties. we had a half pepperoni and half sausage pizza. my husband does not like sausage and i dont care for pepperoni, however, it became our favorites!! the sausage wasnt rubbery and the pepperoni was just delicious. they also went out of their way to make our two boys feel special. now if your thinking this is going to be like dominoes or sauce like ragu your sadly wrong. this is the real authentic italiano way of making pizzas! so if your used to eating the fake stuff then stay there at dominoes but if your looking for the real deal, Big Apple Pizza is just for you! We cant wait to go back and try the famous subs!!
