Great place! – I love their pizza, I love their pasta, I love their employees. It's the kind of place to go with a date or with the whole family. I've never been disappointed with the food or the service. I've been in their private room for a baby shower and for birthday parties. Always special.

The Best Piece of Home – I'm also a Philly native who now lives in Okinawa, Japan (Husband is USMC). I'm soon to return home and all I can think about besides family is biting into a hot piece of Pica's pizza. I love Pica's so much I actually had my mother freeze a pizza and fly it here when she came over to visit. It was good but not the same. I can't wait to get home to share a good pizza with family.

BEST PIZZA EVER – Pica's has the best pizza ever! I highly recommend the pepperoni and well done crust. If you have not been here for the pizza you must try it. Once you trie Pica's you'll never want any other pizza ever.

Very unsavory pizza although the pasta was very good, Awful service from management – I visited Pica's after reading the article that showed it was voted the best pizza in the Philadelphia area.

The pizza was bland, it had no flavor. It was partially burnt and had an aftertaste that reminded me of the one you would get from frozen pizza. The dough was flat and rubbery.

Unfortunately, I expressed my opinion when the waitress me about my experience. Without my asking for it, she brought the manager to our table. This gentleman was very polite. Even though I did not ask for anything, this gentleman offered to subtract the prize of the pizza from the tab. I accepted and thought it very considerate and becoming of an established restaurant.

Sorry to say this wasn't the end of it. A few seconds after the manager left, a person that claimed to be the owner's daughter and who was working the reservations and customer greetings, came to our table and questioned me on my appreciation of the pizza.

She started to argue about the importance of my opinion compared to the thousands that made this the top choice for pizza in Philadelphia. SHE EVEN WENT AS FAR AS SUGGESTING THAT IF I DIDN'T LIKE IT WHY WOULD I EAT IT? This person didn't even give me an opportunity to answer... she rushed out after making me feel as uncomfortable as I have been in my entire life at any food serving location. I felt even worst than I used to feel at my Catholic School's cafeteria!!! I understand taking pride in what you do but confronting and trying to argue with a paying customer is beyond my understanding.

Since I did not have a chance to answer the lady, I'm using this venue to answer her rude remark:

I love Pizza and I will drive for a while to find a good one and after driving for a while, even if it's not the best, I will try to enjoy it and yes, hunger will make me eat it...... at least most of the time.

If you visit Pica's please keep your opinions to yourself if you want to avoid being harassed even as you are paying.

Family Friendly – I am also a Philly native, I was actually born in Upper Darby but lived in Glen Mills, and now I am in Phoenix AZ. Every summer I go back to Philly and as soon as I am off the plane I head over to Pica's! I always get the large pizza, because I like the sauce on top, with green peppers and onions. It is by far what I think of when I want pizza. I can not wait until next time!

Delco establishment's foundation is built on more than its square pizza. – In Short
Pica's has had its loyalists ever since opening its original West Philly location in 1941 and up through its move to Upper Darby in 1956. The homey interior might be passe--ice cream parlor meets grandma's house--but the down-to-earth, straight-shooting service shines. The thick-as-a-book menu is a bible of Italian-American dishes, but the signature dish is its square pizza; the zesty tomato sauce is spread on top of a light layer of mozzarella cheese.

Awesome pizza every time! – Like other reviewers, I am away from home & miss my Pica's tremendously! The square pie, the cheese that is not too greasy or overpowing, the sauce...the pizza is just great! My personal faves are sausage, extra sauce, well done & green pepper, extra sauce, well done. I only wish I weren't 3000 miles away right now!

Much more than a Pizza place – Don't be fooled by reviews that may categorize Pica's as a Pizza place... it is a quality restaurant with exceptional food (fresh pasta, terrific sauce, good wine). The waitresses are warm and friendly, and the ambience is just right. (And judging from the number of diners who DO order the pizza - it must be pretty good, too!)

Missing my Pica's Pizza! – I am a Philly native and now live in Des Moines, IA. I just drove home for a week and my mom asked if I wanted anything special and I told her, "Pica's of course!" My first meal back in Philly was of course pizza. Boy do I miss it!
