New American nibbles for the fashionably hip Beverly Hills party set. – The Scene
This stylish Dodd Mitchell-designed eatery feels like a cross between a hep bachelor pad and Case Study House No. 22. A small front room showcases sleek, white leather couches, shag rug and hot-stone fireplace, which it shares with the dual front patio. The adjacent private dining room provides prime people-watching--or curtains for privacy. Busy servers do their best to accommodate everyone.

The Food
The former "international street food" menu has given way to eclectic appetizers and new American-style mains. Mini-curry burgers provide an ideal segue into the meal. Plump beef patties are topped with tamarind chutney and sandwiched between thin baguette slices. Seasonal mixed-green salad, accented by cherries and hazelnuts, is modestly dressed in coriander vinaigrette. For entrees, luscious duck breast is nicely spiced with pink peppercorns and served in pan sauce to reinforce the bird's flavor; tender scallops are enlivened with kumquat slices. Make-your-own s'mores are a house favorite dessert.

The ambiance and decor is the only thing this place has going for it. It is very comfy and stylish and the indoor/outdoor fireplaces were a nice touch. However, they should have more heat lamps for the patio patrons.

We made a reservation and were seated promptly in the "dining room". We ordered the food at 7:30 pm and appetizers did not come out until 8:30 pm (after we complained twice). I had to wait 45 min. for sugar. Those so-called garlic fries were terrible. They came out overfried and cold. Our entrees came out 15 min. later.

Overall horrible food, management, and kitchen staff. Inexperienced wait staff. They should do away with serving food completely and try to market this place as strictly a lounge. When waiting for my car at valet, 2 other parties were also complaining about the same things. What a disappointment.

Too Good to Stay a Secret – I really liked this place. The server we had last night was so sweet and friendly in a professional way. The food was very good and it was crowded with people who seemed to be having a good time. It didn't have an uptight feeling at all. In fact people were sitting by the fire on the big shag rug having drinks and a good time. Very different scene for Beverly Hills - just what this town needs. Good feeling, good food, low key.

FANTASTIC!! – Went there tonight for the first time. They had tables inside by the fireplace and it was a really cool vibe - the food and service were great. The girl who served us was hot! I tried an unbelievable drink, it was blue but I forgot the name of it. My girlfriend liked the shrimp dish a lot. Go there. Very, very good scene.

Like an upscale student coffee shop – Slow and hapless service, the absence of any visible management and disorganized seating make patrons feel that they've wandered into a student-run coffee shop, operated by freshmen on financial aid for whom this is their first-ever job experience. The food is decent but the menu is limited to an eclectic mix of tapas. Definitely more lounge than restaurant, table seating is minimal. Not a destination in times of rain or cold weather: The vast majority of dining space is outdoors, perhaps the equivalent of 3 couches and one large table of seating is indoors by a nice fireplace.
