Hands down the best for mexican food and drinks – everthing from their food combos to appetizers are delicious. Happy hour can't be beat. Happy hour is 7 days a week from 2pm to 7pm. Appetizers are half off and their 75 cent tacos are the best. And house margaritas are $4 dollars, pitcher margaritas are $15 dollars. Happy hour is now extented on Tuesday kareoke night. Service is really friendly and relaxed. Atmosphere can be range from romantic to a party scene.

Champagne Sunday Brunch was disappointing! Lighting was extremely low it was difficult to read menus and see the food. Brunch is expensive, for a non drinker. Handicap exits are very poor, they are in the back of the restaurant going through two doors and one takes you through the kitchen .Also, there are no signs out front to direct you to the side door handicap access. Service would have been better to quote on if we knew which one he was, we had to ask for refills, silverware and napkins to any waiter passing.

No more celebrations at Mariposa Inn especially for our elderly loved ones.

Best Mexican Food Ever!!!! – When driving on the 10 freeway between Grand and Barranca in the West Covina area, you'll find a row of restaurants called (obviously) Restaurant Row. If you take the time to read the names of those restaurants, you'll recognize many of those names, & chances are the Mariposa Inn will NOT be one of them.

1. The menu. In thirty years of my family & I eating at the Mariposa, the menu hasn't changed, for one good reason. It never had to! Unlike the El Torito & other big-chain Mexican restaurants which are looking each month for the next greatest thing in Mexican cooking, the staff at the Mariposa Inn is kicking back, focusing their energy on good cooking, not fixing the "maquina" that doesn't need to be fixed in the first place.

2. The combos. In the middle of said Mariposa Inn menu, you'll find the tried-and-true combos. Burritos, tacos, enchiladas, chili rellenos, tamales, you name it. You want it, it's there with rice and beans. Whether you get that or something else on the menu, it's served up quick. In the meantime, you get chips that are warm & salty, the best-tasting salsa I've had in any Mexican restaurant. That salsa's so good.

3. The atmosphere. If you eat there during the daytime, the daylight lights up the front of the restaurant nicely, but if you want a truly remarkable dining experience, try the Mariposa Inn at night. It won't be as well-lit as other places, but it will be lit up just enough for you to feel like you've really found a unique place to eat. The tables, chairs, & booths have an older architectural feel to them, & when you look up at the old-style iron chandeliers, you'll definitely feel like you went back in time a bit.

Here's an especially good reason to try the Mariposa Inn. Right next to it is an El Torito. If you want to truly appreciate the Mariposa Inn, try out the El Torito first, & then later on in the week, check out the Mariposa Inn.

BEST MEXICAN CUISINE AND MARGARITAS IN TOWN, EXCELLENT SERVICE – I have been going to Mariposa for about 10 years, the food is always great and the service is always so wonderful. The ambiance is great for any occasion birthdays, anniversaries, graduation, or just for a night out with the family. They have the best authentic Mexican dishes and there Margaritas are the best in town. I recommend this restaurant to the whole world. See you there!!!!

Good Mexican Food – Mariposa is a staple in the SGV. They are much better than El Torito. They have the best guacamole dip anywhere. Always fresh and delicious. All the combo meals and seafood is really good. Not spicy which is good. I guess you could ask for a spicy dish. I love the look....not bright and glaring....more subtle and low lights. Kids are fine here...as they have a kids menu. Sometimes Its a little to warm in there.....they should put the air on stronger. I have always had great service, friendly wait staff etc. I recommend it. Prices are good. Drinks of course make it more expensive. Reservations you dont need. Try it.

Great Mexican Restaurant for the area... – I wouldn't say it is the best ever but it is pretty good. The side dishes can sometimes taste "dry", but the entrees are usually right on. The drinks are just ok, could stand to be a tad bit stronger. Never managed to leave room for dessert, so I will need to get back to you on that.
