No longer in business at the 210 S. Main St site - 03/07/08 – I walked to the site, (should have called ahead to hear that the phone was no longer in service), and found the building for this address had been demolished and construction was just under way for a new building.

This was on 7 March, 2008

I understand their 20th South location is still in business though.

TRONCITY--I HOPE YOU ARE REINCARNATED AS MY PUBIC LOUSE – Greetings, friends. My name is Srinivas Anathanarayaman, and I'm *HELLA* Indian. Troncity-- if that is your real identity (which is rare), you are completely wrong about this dining. This food made me feel transport to my home, it is great, and fast, The curries are perhaps unfit for an unsophisticated palate of a child raised in a brothel, but for members of proper castes this food is indeed splendid. To all -- I recommend it! Please enjoy this food as a respectful micro-cosmic of my land.

Great Food - Horrible Service – Their curry tastes great and you get a lot for your money. I had a good experience at the 2020 state street location. However, at the 210 Main location the cashier was a completely inflexible grumpster. I wanted to order a veggie wrap to go and asked if he could put the naan (bread) on the side so it didn't get soggy, since I had a long drive home. He absolutely refused. I argued with him for about five minutes, and he flat out told me he didn't care and he couldn't prepare anything except exactly how it says on the menu. It was horrible customer service, and I'll never return to the Main St. location.

perfect cheap lunch – If you are a nine-to-fiver in SLC and eat out on your hour of peace from the office this place rules. Good alone or with company. The service is fast and nice. They serve pre-prepared curry dishes with rice and a side of pita. I do wish they served naan, but you get what you get. They have four or so veggie dishes that are spot on and thier chicken curry is delish. If you like spice sprinkle your dish with the red powder by the silverware. Makes it tasty. No it's not truly indian and no it is not anywhere near gourmet, but it is a welcome break from the soup/salad/sandwich drawl. It is not like downtown SLC has a kajillion options for $6 lunch spots. I highly recommend Curry in a Hurry.

Not really Indian food – I went to their locaton on 2100 S State st. I haven't been to the Main st location.

First of all, I'm Indian, and I've eaten Indian food for the better part of quarter-century in my life. This place is terrible. The curries are average. They do not serve naan, but they serve pita or naan. Any self respecting Indian or Greek will not patronize a place that serves pita as naan. The service is lukewarm. I used to frequent this place a while ago, and now I completely stopped going. But if you go there, remember that it's not Indian food you get, but some poor excuse for Indian food.

Big flavors brew in this tiny Main Street storefront that serves Indian and Pakistani takeout to a hungry lunch crowd. – The Scene
Not much of a scene to speak of, really. The temporary-looking space has a graffiti-covered panel on the order counter, sturdy plastic tables and chairs and a few Eastern artifacts on the walls for color. The counter system is efficient and swift; place your order at the left, then step to the right for pick-up.

The Food
The simple menu features a handful of curries served over fluffy basmati rice, a couple of appetizers and vegetable side dishes that rotate throughout the week. Start off with a flaky samosa: a savory, deep-fried pastry stuffed with potatoes, peas and onions. Favorite entree choices include tender chicken breast or melt-in-your-mouth lamb, each bathed in a subtly spiced, fragrant curry. The curry served with on-the-bone tandoori chicken has faintly sweet undertones of coconut milk--delicious. Naan (Indian flatbread) is essential for sopping up the sauces. Side dishes include Indian staples like spinach, potatoes and chick peas.
