best experiance ever – For all of you who bashed Emerils, I had a great experiance for my birthday. I think the service was great and also the food. Yes emeril is based out of new orleans but you cannot expect the restraunts to be the same everywhere even though it is a chain. I live in Gulfport mississippi now and am looking forward to trying his restraunt there when my fiance comes home from Afghanistan. Those of you who are bashing this..probably are the ones that you cannot make happy no matter what you try and do.
CLOSED! – Tried to make reservations this place is closed!! Always surprised that when restaurants close it is not reported quicker on this sight.
DO NOT TRUST THIS STAFF WITH YOUR FOOD – This is my first ever review posting. My mother and I chose this restaurant to celebrate my father's birthday. From the door, my parents and I were treated poorly. The hostess whispered into the phone for (no lie) at LEAST 15 minutes before acknowledging us. The fellow who seated us made some snide remark about the fact that I was rubbing my hands together (because they were dry, but what business is it of his?) before pointing us to our table, where we sat for a few minutes before another young fellow walks over to tell us the "specials" for the night while making eye contact with the ceiling, the other servers, and the place settings before us. None of the employees seemed to want to be there, and at $30 per plate, I expect better treatment. I paid for my father's Tom Collins, and we left the restaurant, and handed our ticket to the valet which prompted an interrogation ("why are you guys leaving?"), followed by a critique of the restaurant we we headed to next (***'Pappadeaux', where the servers are friendly, the portions are generous, and the recipes are STELLAR***). The prying valet wasted another 7 minutes of our time being a wiseguy, and by then I was DONE with Emeril's in ATL. NEVER EAT HERE. EVER. When you're down in Miami on South Beach, visit Emeril's next door the the Loews. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the food is excellent. I can't say the food at Emeril's in ATL is bad, because I couldn't get past the service. I expect more for my money. Pappadeaux is a different environment altogether, but we wanted friendly service, and excellent food without all the 'tude, and we got EXACTLY WHAT WE WANTED AT PAPPADEAUX NOT AT EMERIL'S IN ATLANTA. Anyhow, my parents and i are going to New Orleans tomorrow, so we plan on hitting up Emerils and NOLA there. STEP IT UP IN ATL, PEEPS.
Not a Good Choice – I read the mixed reviews before going to Emerils while visiting Atlanta. My wife and I had been to Emerils in Las Vegas, and had a great experience, so I expected nothing less in Atlanta. We were very dissappointed. The service was decent, but the food was nothing special. I ordered the Fried Oyster Salad to start, thinking this should be a house specialty. The oysters were over breaded and overcooked. I had shrimp and Italian sausage rigatoni for my entree. I could have gotten something similiar at a casual chain for far less money. Poor presentation. To many other restaurants to try in Atlanta to go back here.
Food was terrible – I watch Emeril on Television all the time. When my wedding anniversary rolled around, my husband asked me where I wanted to go. Well anybody who watches Emeril knows.... I told him Emeril's of course!!!!
When I walked in I was thrilled at how lovely the restaurant was. The rolls were wonderful, and then it happened!!! They brought the appetizers and it was over. Where was the New Orleans menu? Where was the spice? where was the flavor? The food was bland, and soggy! My God! My poor husband had to return his food TWICE!!! Would I recommend this restaurant? Sure if all you want is a nice atmosphere! Don't you dare go there for the food.
Excellent Service, Ambience --- Moderate Food – Visting from Houston, this is my second visit to Emeril's. The staff delivers above and beyond, top notch customer service. Two years ago when I visited, I throroughly enjoyed my meal but I must say when I visited this past Saturday, I thought the food was OK. I ordered the gumbo and crab cake. I must say call for clear directions as we got lost trying to locate this place.
horrible food – My wife and I went to Emeril's despite numerous people telling us that the food was not good or many people saying that they went there but didn't remember the food. We were hardheaded though because we really enjoyed our Emeril's experience in New Orleans. THIS IS NOT New Orleans!! This was the WORST meal I have ever paid for EVER! We would have done better to go to McDonalds or Chick Fil A in terms of quality of the meal. The only positive note was excellent service. I would not recommend this to anyone.
bad food, uneven service, over priced! – this was probably the worst meal I have had in a long time, I ordered the special-caviar on a corn cake for an appetizer, what I got was a huge tortilla with 3 tiny specs of caviar, it might have actually been good if the tortilla was bit sized vs. plate sized. Next came my dinner-the trout, I thought it would be great-fresh since it was from Georgia. It was the worst piece of fish I have ever had. It was super fishy and tasted like it had been sitting around for days. It was topped with Crab meat which was full of shells, I actually cut my gum. My husband order the duck which was equally disappointing- it was stone cold and rubbery. Our service was uneven, waiter knocked my roll off the table and picked it back up and put it on my plate. Interrupted our conversations several times and it did take forever for them to come and take our order, however the people who filled our water glasses were right there every time we took a drink to refill them-so a plus to them. Wine list was good. We walked away spending over $200.00 feeling very ripped off.
Overall, I think Emeril needs to come in and do a BAM on this restaurant.
Disappointing – Taking my husband to Emeril's was my surprise for his birthday. What a disappointing surprise. It took 10 minutes for us to even get menus, 20 minutes to get water on the table, 30 minutes before we ordered and then 30 minutes in between getting each dish (soup, entree, and dessert). The food was disappointing too. The lobster and scallop bisque essentially was red water, the lobster salad was fancy coleslaw and you couldn't even taste the lobster because it was overwhelmed with a sour citrus flavor, the mac and cheese was runny and flavorless, the grits tasted like lemon grass, the pecan pie wasn't sweet at all!! The shrimp and scallops were decent. The gumbo, banana pie and Jack Daniel's chocolate ice cream were good.
excellent -despite bad reviews! – i went last week for my mom's 60th bday. i told them beforehand it was her bday and the attention to detail was fabulous.i love that they serve everything in sync :) ! they sent out complimentary appetizers (small tastes) and a slice of heaven- the banana creme pie- at the end. the waiters were so on it. i haven't been to a rest. in years with this kind of service. the osso buco was TO DIE FOR. and at the bar before my parents arrived the bartender let me sample diff. champagnes. the wine list is incredible. the whole night was fantastic! i am glad we went as i was hesitant bc of the bad things i had heard. don't listen to it ..... GO!!! perfect for a romantic dinner- or special occasion- just tell them ahead of time and you will be treated like royalty!!
