Worst Customer service Ever! – First; I would not recommend Victor's landscaping.
Victor comes across as a good professional, but has empty promises. Victor's is highly expensive for the work performed. Communication between employees is very weak. A lot of " I was not informed" alway's passing the buck. I asked to speak to Victor many times and was alway's put off. I was told my irrigation system needed work, but the price kept changing and then the upkeep promised just does not happen. The timing has not been changed no matter how many times I call and inform them there is too much water for the planters. I was told to wait to have the palm trees serviced so they could spawn. Victors chose the time frame. $600. for the service and OOPS! sorry, 2 weeks later they all spawned. I have had to babysit the workers. Numerous calls to the office while they are doing the service asking for help to explain to the crew what not to do. The blower gent loves to blow the dirt in towards the house, cover cars and windows. The crew does not respect the items in the yard and things get broken without a word to the customer. You have to notice it yourself and then there is a real lack of responsibility. Victor's has a stone company, but wants me to find a company for the damages that need to be repaired. I get charged for full service wether they do the service or not. This company is only about the money, not true customer satisfaction.
I can not recommend Victor's Landscaping – First off, everything they did had a problem and they eventually fixed most of the problems. The biggest problem that I have is that they were to lay down a slab of concrete. Upon digging the foundation it was discovered that two 1/2" poly tubes for the drip system would be laying underneath the concrete. I asked if they intended to put sleeves around the tubing underneath the concrete. The site manager Dan said of course, we wouldn't lay concrete on top of soft poly tubing, the PVC pipe is in the truck and he showed me the pipes. During the entire job I asked several times about the PVC pipe around the poly tubes and they stated that there was no problem. After the concrete was poured the concrete layer showed me the PVC pipe and said that the poly tubes were in it. A year and a half later I discovered a leak near the the slab and dug down and found the PVC pipe and the poly tubes along side it and not in it - and the leak was under the concrete. Furthermore the PVC pipe was 1" pipe and could not fit two 1/2 " poly tubes (.7"o.d.). Victor stated since it was not in the contract that they were not responsible. Another problem is that when they poured the concrete they poured over the metal tube for the gate lock at the bottom. The concrete layer drilled about a 1/2" hole for the gate rod and said that this is an acceptable fix. The gate moves in the wind and eventually a crack in the concrete grew from the 1/2" hole to about 3 ft back from the hole. Victor, to my face, said that there is no way to tell that that crack was from the hole and besides the slab is out of warranty. From our experience with this company I highly recommend going elsewhere for your landscaping needs. But, if you choose use Victor's do not take their word, get everything, including deviations from the plan, in writing and keep a close eye on all of their work.
Other problems they did not fix: in a large area where they laid sod they left 1-2" gaps between the seams. Dan said that they would grow in - I know nothing about sod - I believed him and shouldn't have they actually grew further apart. They removed plants and laid sod where the plants were, but did not remove the drippers. In fact, they removed the drip heads and left 1/4" open tubing underneath the sod. So the first time I watered the plants I had 5 puddles in the sod - I fixed these myself. The first time they laid the concrete slab it looked like third grader did it - incredibly uneven, rough, and no expansion joints. To their credit, they did redo the slab, but see above.
A response to Mr. Ponders from President, Victor Pope 6/17/2 – I wanted to take a moment personally to respond to Mr. Ponders recent review. Victor's Landscaping Inc and my self are currently working with Mr. Ponder to resolve his concerns. We take all clients issues very seriously; which is reflected in our long record with the ROC and BBB.
Worst Customer Service EVER! – On a job where they promised to plant sod, grade my yard, plant 2 new trees, and test the irrigation system the latter two were not accomplished properly.
Since 2/26/2010 I have been going back and forth with Victor's Landscaping trying to get this situation resolved. A landscaper informed me that I needed a new diaphragm for my irrigation system, but never told the job boss to get the diaphragm installed. When I informed the job boss of the issue he said he was never informed, and then came back to me and said I needed to replace all 4 valves. The cost difference between the diaphragm and the valves was $320.
I had a commercial landscaper review the irrigation system and he stated that there was nothing wrong with the valves and only one diaphragm needed to be replaced. It seems Victor's was trying to scam me for an addition $300.
It took 3 months for him to come out to my house and I was told nothing could be done and it was my fault.
I WOULD ADVISE AGAINST USING VICTOR'S LANDSCAPING!
