Great Ambience, customer service – This was my first time in Scottsdale visiting my boyfriends brother. He and his wife took us there after raving about the food. We absolutely loved it. We are steak eaters and the filet was the best we have ever tasted. Being from Utah we weren't used to ordering drinks. I ordered a dirty martini and couldn't believe how much I got. The best item on the menu is the butter cake. To die for! The service was the best I've seen in a long time. The only flaw was the lobster bisque. It was a little bland. I would still recommend this place to anyone with deep pockets. I also was happy smoking was banned indoors. It's nice to go home from a night out not smelling like an ashtray.
Great Bar!! – The Ocean Club has a very nice bar, with live piano music and great drinks. The decor and people are beautiful, and you have got to try their Chocolate Martinis, complete with a large chocolate covered strawberry perched on the rim. Awesome!
Avoid it ll together unless yo want a very expensive cocktail – Over priced and not top quality food. Lobster mash pototoes were over poriced and consisted of scrap lobster meat over seasoned woth celery salt. Does not compare to a Ruth Chris or a Flemings
Poor Service, High Prices – Before I went there, my friends told me it was a great diner. They were wrong. For a steak was undercooked and hostess were unattractive and mine seemed angry at me for no reason. My family left after 10 minutes.
great steak, seafood , and atmosphere – great appetizers, seafood , and steaks great variety for a crowd of people. have a drink at the bar before or after dinner if you get the big seafood tower appetizer it can get expensive , but they have it all
Great bar...not a fan of the dining room – I love the bar here. The cosmos served with dry ice are so yummy (a tiny bit cheesy with all the smoke and bubbles, but cute none-the-less)and they come in two's Appetizers are PHENOM! The seafood tower is something you have to do at least once, but after that save your money. Try the calamari and a cosmo at the bar and you won't be disappointed. And make sure Drew is your bartender...he's awesome. If you're cute, he might even throw in a free Baked Alaska :O)
place to be seen – Best seafood you will find intown..also probably the most expensive. MUST get: seafood tower appetizer (chilled). Price- depends on how much stuff you want it. ours was about $600 for 8 or 9 ppl. steaks were excellent. Hot seafood was not as impressive because of the marinades they used. sides were sub par. nice wine list. be sure to get seated in the main dining room as the bar/lounge area is too noisy for dinner conversation. staff was knowledgable, be prepared to shell out $$$$ for this place, but worth every penny.
Steakhouse group's popular seafood offering features fresh fare and a hopping bar scene. – In Short
The Mastro Group's seafood restaurant in North Scottsdale's uber-popular Kierland Commons is a sprawling space featuring huge tables covered with white linens, wrought-iron chandeliers and a stylish piano bar. The vanilla-battered shrimp appetizer features three juicy, freakishly large butterfly shrimp with sharp cocktail sauce. True to Mastro's steakhouse roots, the petite filet (eight ounces) remains a constant crowd pleaser, but leave room for baked Alaska, a sweet treat dowsed in flaming Bacardi 151.
Great meal with a good friend – This is a straight up elegant "surf and turf" restaurant with impeccable service, wonderful ambience, and curious parking. It is in a mall so we decided t park ourselves instead of using the valet. We had to pass the open supplier's door to the kitchen to get inside. It wasn't a turn-off, just curious.
There was nothing "Billy Bob Texan" about the experience. There are no longhorns dangling from the wall and the wait staff were ideal.
great food but be prepared to spend a lot – my meal was delicious. my friend ordered the jumbo lobster tail ($70) and i ordered the 8oz filet. we split our dinners and still could not finish them! we are big eaters too! our waiter tried to push the appetizer tower on us and we were so glad we did not give in. we had the calamari and ahi tuna appetizers and both were fantastic. another friend had the vanilla battered twin lobster tails which were very good, but another was not overly pleased with the red snapper. the bill was just over $400 for 4 people, and the food was excellent, i would recommend trying the ocean club but one visit is probably enough. however, the bar was fabulous, go to the ocean club for after work appetizers and drinks.
