Best pain au chocolat! Buttery, flaky, delicious chocolate. All the pastries are delicious. Cute place to have breakfast or lunch.

gruyere and onion omelet sandwich... sooo good – sat out on the back patio with a group of folks and enjoyed some tasty coffee with the sun shining. parking could probably be a bit of a hassle. A+ for saturday brunch.

One of my favorite lunch hangouts – I'm absolutely in love with their Nicoise salad and their pear tart!! I agree that the back patio doesn't have the greatest view, but it's relaxing to have your lunch there on the weekdays. Finding parking depends on your luck and time of day but the visit is well worth it. One minor grumble is I'm not too crazy about their croissants. They're a little too flaky and brown for my taste.

Great croissants and french toast – Amandine is fantastic. They make the best french toast I have ever tasted, and their croissants are wonderful. All of the baked goods, sandwiches, and breakfasts I've tried (and I have tried many items there!) have been top-notch. The downside is the price, but it's so worth it. Seating can also be hard on weekend mornings.

Great Bakery, Good Food – On the Westside, this is one of my favorite places to get a pastries or cakes. The pastries are crispy and flavorful and the cakes are all high in quality, and unique in taste. What people don't mention are the equally good food selection. I personally like the Croque Madame, a deliciously gooey sandwich, but my friends like the conventional sandwiches more. I've always been under the impression that the silverware and water is self-serve. Sandwich, Drink, and Dessert will run you around $15.

Ideal seating can be hard to come by, as the outside back patio has a view of the parking lot and trash bins, the indoor seating is mostly cramped, and the front patio is facing busy Wilshire. I just go slightly off the obvious busy hours, or go by for take-out.

Decent food, with terrible service – Despite the good bakery selection, the service here is terrible. Food was served with no silverware, my drink was never served, & salt & pepper no where in sight. For the $15 that I spent for my brunch, I was appalled at the quality of this place. The back door tables are small and messy. Overall, very disappointing as they actually do have a fairly good menu.

Favorite West LA Bakery – Everything I've had here, from the tarts to the strawberry mousse has been fabulous. But I love their cheesecake best. Probably the best cheesecake I've ever had!!! All of their baked goods taste fresh and yummy.

Berries Cheesecake to die for.. – Amandine by no doubt is among my very favorite bakeries in LA. The cakes not only are beautiful but are also made from fresh ingredients that make them taste so.. great, plus the price is very reasonable comparing to many other bakeries in town. My favorite is the Berries Cheesecake, it's not as sweeet as the regular cheesecake that we usually get from the cheesecake factory or some other places, but extremely tasty *the texture is really smooth and milky, plus the buttery walnut crust, uhhh... I can never have enough of it!* . However, if you're not in the mood for some cheesecake, you can always try the tart rouge, which taste as wonderful and perhaps some of their danishes for breakfast! *Try the banana and chocolate chip danish, it's extremely delicious and quite cheap!*

best croissants since paris – The pros - I love the croissants at Amandine. In fact I always buy a few different pastries take home with me. I've been looking for a place to buy croissants on the Westside ever since I came back from France in 2001. I think I finally found it! Also I had the yummiest mocha ever to go with my croissant! The cons - If only they opened longer and were more organized about the lines. And the back patio tables are gross, next to the trash cans and parked cars. Decor has a bit more to be desired.
