Angie is the bomb!!!! I had a purple tinkerbell put on my back...she was amazing! I have Fibromyalgia which means I feel 3x's the pain normal people do. She was more than patient letting me take numerous breaks without a complaint that I was holding her up etc. I won't go anywhere else now!
This place is dirty, has no curb appeal, the homeless camp out behind the shop and come up to bum money or smokes from you. The staff is made up of only one tattoo artiest and he is not even a good one. Everyone else in the shop are students who do not know what they are doing. Bob is a really bad teacher and is just taking the students for there money. Ever since a well known person left there the shop has gone to hell. If you go to this shop be ready to over pay for a crap tattoo that will either fade out or get infected due to the shop being dirty.
THIS IS THE PLACE TO GET TATTOOED! – I cant believe this place has ever gotten ANY kind of negative reviews. I've been tattooed in three different States; Oregon, Washington and Idaho.Graveyard is a place with some really talented artist and a clean shop. This place is also a Tatoo School, which means they are familiar with and actually follow all of the State mandated laws.
Alan Freestad is an amazing artist. I have a couple of tats that are in color that I were done EXACTLY to my standard! I can not tell you how intimidating it was to go to a shop and ask for "something specific that means so much to you, to be placed forever" on you body. I was reasured that he could duplicate it, and it looks fantastic! Most of my tattoos are in Grey scale-black and white-and I get compliments all of the time in stores, restaurants and simply walking down the streets because of the outstanding work he does.
Another perk of using Alan (and Graveyard) is-as I said before- they can duplicate anything that you want, but they are also willing, competent and able to draw up any design you can think of.
I can not think of any place, or any artist that I would rather get a Tattoo from. If you dont believe me, stop by the shop and look at his work and talk to him, talk to his customers. Dont take my word. Get it from the people that he is currently Tattooing!
He will do your touch up for FREE. I know, because he is currently finishing up my left sleeve and has done over 10 different Tattoos on different parts of my anatomy. Of all of the work that he has done, I have only had to have ONE touch up and that was in the crook of my elbow. His work is simply that good. Stop by and see.
Alan Freestad - Best Tattoo Artist in the Area – I have about 5 or 6 tattoos from Graveyard and all of them have been done by Alan Freestad. I would recommend him to all of my friends. Sure he is not the happy go lucky lets all smile all the time kinda guy but he is very chill and down to earth and always makes me laugh when I'm getting my tattoos. He always makes sure I am confortable and prepared before he starts working. He is extremeley talented, the lines and color are perfect. Shading always looks amazing. He may be busy so you can't walk in and expect to get your tattoo right then and there but hes always willing to set up an appointment and be there for it. I would never say he is cheap but he has the lowest price for the highest quality. I've sent many of my friends there to get their touch ups or to get tattoos fixed that someone else messed up. I wouldnt go anywhere else.
The only place I will get ink from – I have been going to Graveyard to get inked for years and wont go anywhere else! Not only do both artists do high quality work they are very down to earth and fun to talk to.I went to a few shops when I first got to portland before Graveyard and the vast majority of the artists I met were stuck up snootie hipsters who charged an arm and a leg just for touchups!Alan has been the one who has done my work and I recommend him to ANYONE looking to get tattooed! He has always been very nice to me and his work is really good.I'm going to get some more work done by him when I got the cash.
GET YOUR INK HERE! – I have a full sleeve that just recently got finished. I told alan i wanted a full viking sleeve and talked to him about my idea of how i wanted it and gave him free reign from there. then he got to work. 20+ hrs later..BAM.. it turned out better than i could imagine. alan does world class work for next to nothing and makes the whole experiance enjoyable. the sleeve is all black and grey. Ive been tattooed by artists all over the country and world.. literally (japan, north carolina, missouri....) this one is my favorite by far.. i imagine atleast until he does my next one..Im extremely impressed with his work. last week a very conservitave man even stopped me in line at harbor frieght and complimented how intricate and well done the tattoo looked. all credit goes to alan freestad @ graveyard tattoo.(even the ma was impressed with the artwork!!!) Hes currently working on another custom piece for me.. cant wait to get started!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK GRAVEYARD!!
I'd give it 10 stars if i could – I think that Alan does great work! I have never been unhappy with any of my tattoos from him. & not to mention he has the best prices, out of anyone. And to all of the people that think you can just walk into a tattoo shop with out an appointment on a weekend. you've got to be completely retarded. MAKE AN APPOINTMENT! wait your turn! It's not that hard!
Best Tattoo Experience – I have gotten my tattoos by alan and would never get a tattoo from anyone else ever.
He does an amazing job and is great to be around. The atmosphere at Graveyard is like no other.
People ask me all the time or they talk to me about getting a tattoo and i ALWAYS recomend Alan at Graveyard!
The people are great and same goes for pricing.
Dont be dissing on the GRAVEYARD!!!
Full Sleeve Experience – I shopped around Portland with the idea of getting an entirely full, bold, color sleeve. I can't draw very well but i knew what I wanted and how I wanted it to look. After a bunch of driving to different shops and meeting some cool people, I went into Graveyard on a Wednesday night. I was greeted with a raised eye brow and a "I'll be right with you". I sat down with Alan that night for over an hour as he explained to me a little about his tattooing background, his certification, training, and school. I was impressed when he showed me his portfolio from over the years. He specialized in black and white (Grayscale) but he was also getting increasingly better with his color!! After adding up everything I chose Graveyard, (Alan) 45 hours later and a hell of a Advil later...I couldn't be more pleased!!!!! I get compliments at grocery stores, the gym, work, out on dates, BBQs, coffee shops, motorcycle events, everywhere!!!!!!!! And they always have the same question in common at the end, "Where did you go?????????" I'm proud of my his work and I'm glad to tell them, GRAVEYARD!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great place to get tattooed – I have 11 tattoos and 9 of which came from Graveyard. I love coming here to get work done. Alan is always great and makes the experience fun. They have great prices and I have never had to wait to get one done. I'm very spur of the moment when i get my tattoos and Alan always manages to get me in and always does a great job. No complaints here. Would recommend them to anyone looking for great work and great pricing. :)
