I don't know how this place stays in business!!! – Let me just start by saying that my family met my cousins family at the Chickie and Pete's in Bordentown. So, first of all, after we were seated and had the infamous crab fries (fries with old bay on them) brought to us, we were told that we had been seated at the wrong table, and would we mind moving. Ok, no problem! So, all 9 of us gather our stuff and move to another table which was literally crunched into a corner next to another hugh party-we could just about get into our seats... and, thank God we carried our drinks over... the waitress never brought the appitizers over to our new location... and when we asked for them she looked shocked.

so, we put our orders in, but, alas, the waitress never put in half of our tables orders, so, while some of us had our meals, the other half had to wait an additional 20 minutes.

But, here's the best. Seriously, no fries or chips served with burgers or cheesesteaks??? no lettuce or tomatoe with a hamburger. This place is unbelievable.!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!

WORST. SERVICE. EVER – Wow- really? what's with all the hype- I have been to all Chickie n Petes locations and asside from the occasional good service at Robbins...I always have terrible service!! The waitress takes your order about 20 minutes after you are seated (god forbid 1 person in your party is stuck at the light you need to wait for them to be seated..what a joke!), then NEVER returns! When eating thoes salty crab fries you need something to drink to wash it down...I sucked on an ice cube for a half an hour! the are complete idoits! I myself have been in the service industry and never stiff on the tip but it burns me to even tip the usual %- Stop throwing food onto my table and never returing until you wanna get paid!- I may sound disgruntled but I can assure you I am not the only one who has had this happend to them

Towing Scam @ Chickie and Petes Stadium Area - – Carry Cash - $200 and a cab company phone listing next time you visit. Spent the afternoon at Chickie and Petes and made the mistake of coming out and getting a hoagie to go from across the street. That's all the needed to have George Smith car jack my truck. Pete, can I get my tip back I left on the bar? Boo to the city for letting this go on. Boo to Chickie and Petes for letting it happen over and over to its' patrons.

Anybody seen my Car? – Pregame meal at Chickies and Petes for the Family-$109

Grabbing 'to go' homemade cookies from the deli directly across the street for the game - $5.49

Cab to car impound - and back w/tip - $30

hotel room required due to limited impound hours - $149

missed Phillies game, tickets - $ 196

cab to hotel and back to impound next morning - $76

impound and towing fees - $190

Finding your car towed from Chickies and Petes and supporting the local crackhead spotters receiving kickbacks from Smith towing - Priceless

Hey, if Chickies and Petes provides preprinted impound directions to hand to the cabbie, a steady stream of tow trucks pass every ten minutes, cash only accepted, and the impound looks like a hell scene from the Wiz, something is fishy. Better off avoiding Chickies and Petes and going directly to the game.

HORRIBLE TIME OVER AND OVER!!!! – this place really knows how to ruin night after a good time after a flyers or phillies victory. they service is horrible, the waitress always has an attiude. forget it if you have a party more than 5 because they will rush you. the owner is a joke. he presents himself like a dirtball giving orders with out presenting himself in the right way an owner should. the food isn't the best in the whole city we all had much better. Everyone i know of that went there never had a decent evening. the parking is horrible, so forget getting there if your late, most likely your car will be towed. This isnt based off of one night either, it has happened muilple times even when they arent crowded as well. Do your self a favor save your money and don't waste you time in the dumb place. Can't even watch most of the TV's that are in there anyways.

Great but know where to park – Great place- a lot of fun.

To clear a little of the misinformation here- your car will get towed if you park in the C&P lot and leave it there.

The lot is for customers of that strip mall only. C&P does not own that lot anyway- it is privately owned and the owners enforce the towing.

I think it's great because I love Chickies and Petes and the parking can be tough sometimes. At least you know they're trying to provide their patrons parking and not allow that tiny lot to be taken over by people who won't spring for $10 Phillies parking.

Get the mussels white! Yum!

Games are amazing here- especially playoffs!

Chickie and Petes BEWARE WHEN PARKING! – Frankly I had no idea Chickie and Petes was located in the lot where I parked, across from the Philadium. Call me not city smart I guess.

So had tickets to a Phillies game and was looking for the Philadium, found it easy enough. I see a lot off the street and NO apparent signs about not being able to park there. You see this lot has two entrances and the one I chose was NOT marked and NO signs aiming in this direction! I lock the truck, see a local thug sitting on a wall by the lot (by the way this is a nice area and the thug stood out) and walked over to the Philadium. An hour later, go to leave and no truck! The thug is the lookout who calls the truck and this all under Chickie and Pete's direction.

So off to find the tow lot aka George Smith Towing. It is NOT close! Gonna cost you some bucks via cab! Cab driver probably in on it all too! Youe arrive at this seedy part of town and approach the building. A bullet proof window with a ragged shade covers it. Up pops the shade and yet another thug with less than basic English skills attempts communication. What? Huh? Speak up I say! Funny, when he said 180 bucks to get your truck back it was clear.

Thus another story of the tow truck scammers and a business that uses them in Philadelphia. It is a setup from the word go and I'm sure others have been burned similar. As for Chickie and Petes ? Yea right. Do a search and see for yourself, this low life overpriced chain tows people who drink there all night, play it safe calling a cab and leave their cars there overnight!

Again, loved South Philly, great people, love the Flyers, Eagles and Phillies but Chickie and Petes will never see a dime of mine...wait...they got a cut of the 180.00 I'm sure!

If Chickie and Petes had any class they would hire a person to patrol the lot and chase you, not ruin your night and make you miss a game.

Best Sports Bar in Philly! – Completely disregard what every other writer wrote. They just don't know. Tonight my family and I went out to eat at Chickie and Pete's on Packer Ave, and it was a great expierience. Yes, the food is not as good as an upscale restaurant, but this is Real Philadelphian Sports bar food. It's just down right tasty. I especially recomend the mussels, crab, cheesteak and of course the "World Famous" crab fries . The crab fries are much different than the ones you stand in line for at Citizens Bank Park or at Licoln Financial Field, here, they are perfect. By perfect, I mean they are cooked well, (Despite what other writers may have said) and the fries come with a perfect amount of unique terrific bay seasoning. However, the Service is not terrific. You give your name the waitresses and will usually have about a twenty minute wait, and much much more on Philly game days. I went during a Philadelphia Flyers game and had to wait for forty minutes. The plates come as they are ready, meaning someone may eat their cheesteak before someone recieves their salad. The atmosphere is terrific; there are several widescreen plasma tvs throughout the restaurant with several games playing. This is an excellent place to watch an eagles game. In conclusion, this is an unpretentious restaurant, and the food is well worth the wait. If one is new to Philadelphia, or even new to this restaurant, rest assured, it is a terrific experience.

A Glorified Toilet – The next time someone suggests CaP's, find out of they ever dined outside NE Philly or Wildwood. Folks who classify this as great food have never eaten a fresh, hot pizza or properly prepared crabs. Bay seasoning on undercooked fries, a specialty? You got to be kidding, Davy. It was a disaster !

South Philly's big, shiny, crab-frying sports bar. – In Short
The fourth in a chain of working-class sports bars, this vast pub packs in super fans seven nights a week. What Chickie's lacks in atmosphere (flat-screen TVs, Coors banners and a no free-refills policy), its patrons make up in spirit. The self-proclaimed inventor of Old Bay-dusted crab fries prides itself on messy eating. Cutlet sandwiches, Wiz-stuffed poppers, hit-or-miss wings, mussels and hot roast beef are customer favorites. Still, count on paying top-dollar for over-seasoned hardshells.
