Best bar in Austin!. Nuno's is by far my favorite bar in Austin. I am normally opposed to 6th street unless I have friends in from out of town, but Nuno's is by far an exception. The live music is the best around. I am from Seattle and what you see for $3 here, you would pay atleast $15 for there. I love that it is a small, intimate bar, where the faces at the door and behind the bar are always familiar. The music is wonderful every time I'm there, and Pinetop is unbelievable! I always feel safe, unlike many bars downtown. I couldnt wish for a better bar experience!

Great blues music any night of the week. Nuno's is always on my list of places to stop by whenever I am downtown. I have taken all of my customers and friends that visit just for a drink and we always ended staying the entire evening. Highly recommend Nunos if you want to get a feel for Austin. Ohh an ddont forget about Pinetop Perkins who shows up all the time, 96 years old, just awarded a grammy and will still perform a song or two.

Love it!. This was the first bar I went down the first time I was in Sixth Street. It was the music that sucked me in and the friendly waitstaff, and drink specials that made me stay. Kudo's to you, Nuno...I'll be back when I come to Austin again and this time I hope you have some business cards ;-)

what a shame. I am the owner of NUNO'S, and its a shame to see some of these bad reviews, because most of them is from former employees who got fired for stealing, or patrons who think our prices are too expensive.

Here's of some of my own input.

1- cover charge($3.00)

wow, you pay 7 to park but not 3 to listen to live music, wich that money goes for the band only.

2- drinks too expensive.

i wish i could do cheaper, but i don't sell drugs to support the venue, so i must make a profit to keep it open, wich i havn't in 4 years (i do have 5 other business to support it )

3- i could have a DJ all night wich i could make a lot more money, but i love live music and thats what austin was build on.

I could go on and on but many of you wouldn't understand what we have to do just to keep these places open, since i'm dealing with a bunch of drunks everynight, and trying to make everyone happy is just impossible.

horrible bar prices. was starting to dig this place till I ordered a drink. $12 bucks for a double Jack on the rocks...asinine. Can get the same drink for $5.50 at Midnight Rodeo with a much better crowd and music. Pass this scalp-job outfit up for Maggie Mae's...better bar prices and atmosphere.

My FAVORITE!. Yall must be kidding me. This bar is the best on 6th and a nice change from the rest of the tacky bars and clubs down there. The music is incredible... and Tank (the door guy) and Nuno (the owner)... that you so rudely speak of... are nothing short of amazing. Stop taking yourselves so seriously and go take a listen to the AMAZING music and get to know the exceptional staff.

Loved it. Honest to god blues club and band. Good service and great music. Not refined. Loved every minute spent there. Highly recommended.

Nuno's on 6th Street. I went to Austin for a convention recently and had heard of Nuno's in the New Yorker. The article said this was a true blues bar and that i might even get to see Pinetop Perkins. I figured since i was in town for 3 days my chances were slim to none....WRONG! i walked in and sitting at this little table was this little old man....95 yrs old.....a blues legend that i can't even believe I had the opportunity to meet! He signed a cd for me and about 5 minutes later was called up on stage by this really talented guitar player...JT Coldfire!

I went to lots of places during my three days in austin but this club was by far the one I will remember forever!

PS the door guy was too funny and remembered my name when i left and came back an hour later! I felt like I was home! Go to Nuno's and see Pinetop Perkins!!

DON'T GO HERE. I would rather give Nuno's zero stars than one star. Nuno, the owner, is a belligerent drunk who abuses his customers on a whim. The customer is ALWAYS wrong at Nuno's. He's mean and disrespectful, especially to women. Most of his employees have been nice to me. But, if they weren't, how can I blame them when they have a heinous boss like Nuno.

The worst place to go or work!. I was a bartender at nunos for literally 2 days. Nuno the owner is the meanest guy I have ever met or worked with he cussed out his GM, told him that he was an idiot in front of guest behind the bar. He made the bartenders keep not only the bar taps but also the 3 cocktail servers taps. This made me not be able to get to the bar guest and I could see why guest would say the employees were rude. I've been a bartender for 5 years and NEVER would run or work in a system like nuno does it. He is the idiot and I don't even think he has ever been in a restaurant and I can guarantee Nuno will not have bars much longer. DO NOT GO TO NUNOS!!!!!!!
