Nurturing artistic impulses of all kinds, this warehouse district theater/live music venue houses an intense intermingling of creative forces. – In Short
Infernal Bridegroom Productions, a non-profit experimental theater group, staged its first show as a company here in 1993. At the time, the Axiom was a punk-rock venue. Now, the club is IBP's full-time residence. They use the space primarily for staging daring and idiosyncratic productions by the likes of Beckett, Brecht and contemporary playwrights, including Shepard and Shawn. All of these artistic endeavors--plays, monthly micro-cinemas (short alternative films) and fashion shows--attract a loyal group of counterculture enthusiasts.
