Went shopping to Dunedin to cute little shops like Darling Memories,Amanda Austin and Rose Garden. Everyone in these shope were nice and welcoming. I wanted to end my shopping experience with a nice cup of Java.

Whe I walked to Cappucino's Bakery...I saw a couple of customers and once person working behind the counter so I decided to sit and but my bags down. When I sat on the counter...the lady working there didn't aknowledge me but I figure she was alone so I didn't take it personally. Since I really was craving my cup of Java I decided to patiently wait. After taking the order from customers she went to the back and dissapeared for 20 minutes.

At this point I really needed to go to the bathroom. When she came of to serve the people I asked if she can buzz me to the bathroom and she ignored me. I asked again and she SHOUTED at me and I saw a mean lady looking at me. She yelled"don't you see that I'm working alone here...if you need a public bathroom there's one around the corner". I metioned to her that I was a potential customer and I have been patient by waiting 20 minutes and she didn't have to yell at me and send me to a public bathroom. I've had my bags here and that she shouldn't abuse me for no reason.

After that...she yelled at me again and told me that I should leave her shop. SHe mentioned that she was the owne and I was shocked and couldn't believe that she was being so cruel to me for no apparent reason. She basically was taking out her job or personal frustrations on me. I was really shocked and like any women with some integrity I defended my case....and tol her that she was very cruel and bitter and that this is no way to treat a customer who has been patiently waiting. She then did the ultimate...she called the cops so they can escort me for no reason. Since it was so unfair...I figured I would wait and explain my side of the story to the cops...that I was basically waiting 20 minutes for a cup of Java and to use the bathroom and this lady was just cruel with me for no apparent cause...just being abusive towards me from her personal frustrations.

I decided to leaven and not let her ruin the wonderful experience I had with other merchant owners in the area. I saw her as being cruel, catty and bitter and left without take in it personally.

I have travelle all over the world and come from a family of restaurant owners and I ive that the owner of Cappuccino's Bakery a 0 out of 10 rating for cruelty, abuse, and and hateful energy. Have a spirit lady...it's Xmas. She is a lady Scroodge.

If you are visiting Dunedin...stay away if you are happy, attractive and fairly young because this witch will hate on you and give you ill treatment. She represents the haters of the world who hate the happy, sexy, beautiful and cheerful young women. STAY AWAY from the abuse. Oh by the way I saw she did the same to a customer on a Yahoo Travel Review....this MErchant will give Dunedin a bad name.

Amazing yogurt gelato! – Very. Good. Gelato.

We were in Italy this past autumn and we became quite spoiled with a couple of gelaterias in Rome. Mio Gelato is the best we've tasted outside of Rome thus far.

We tried three flavors: yogurt, raspberry and pistachio. The raspberry tasted like a fresh berry bursting in your mouth, amazing. The pistachio, too, tasted just like eating a handful of pistachios but with the cool creaminess as an added bonus. The surprising star of the bowl (at least to me) was the yogurt flavor. Regular yogurt doesn't even taste as good as Mio Gelato's yogurt gelato! How do they do that?!?! I could've gone back for more, it was wonderful.

Mio Gelato is now a must-see when we're in Portland!

Worst service ever, mediocre product – I have frequented Mio Gelato for years now, and the other two locations seem fine, but this on NW 11th, has gone downhill. In one particular instance last week, I went in for an iced latte and asked the barista to pour my shots over the ice. Instead, she made them badly and then let them set there and die as she and the other coworkers had sample after sample after sample of gelato while they ignored customers that had recently arrived. When I asked the girl to remake my drink, she yelled at me and refused, telling me that she wasn't going to waste more coffee and milk on me as she threw more and more plastic spoons away taking personal gelato samples while on the job. I asked for her name, and I'm sure what she told me was fake: Sarah. She refused to give me contact information for a higher up, so I emailed the owner of the stores in town and they never even bothered to get back to me. Having been a barista before, and knowing what good service is, I have a lot of empathy for people that work in service positions. As a current business owner, I have a lot of empathy for owners that have to deal with employees gone awry. I have been very kind up until now, but no longer: go to this and other Mio Gelato stores at your own risk. They clearly don't care about customers, service, or having a good product.

Worst gelato EVER - Pizza will probably be terrible, too – Gelato is awful. Choices slim and expensive. Can't even have 2 flavors in the smallest cup. What a rip. Doesn't even compare to Alato Gelato on NW 23rd. Now, there is a deal and delicious gelato!

Went to the NE 15th location. BIG CLUE: place was empty! What does that tell you (at 8pm in the evening) and the person at the front counter could barely get up to serve us.

Terrible. They will shut down soon.. no way they can pay those rents with that type of product and service.

Good riddance.

YUM! YUM! YUM! – LOVE it!! Very close (maybe better?) to the gelato I love to eat when in Italy. Great flavors, always fresh tasting, open in the late evening, clean. Just overall terrific.

Low Quality gelato – Mio Gelato doesn't have a large variety of flavors, and they taste like they came our of a can. This doesn't taste like hand made gelato, it is a dissapointment

amazing gelato – the gelato here is fantastic. the pear flavor tastes like an actual pear.. in gelato form! everything is SO flavorful and real tasting. i recommend the fruit flavors like pear, apple, or grapefruit to understand fully what im talking about. so many flavors to choose from and theyre all displayed beautifully. in fact, with such an impressive gelato display up front, ive never even cared to see the selection of sandwiches and stuff they have on the sides. perfect place to finish an afternoon of shopping at buffalo exchange and reading at powells, both located in the same intersection. delicious.

mio gelato has good gelato but i have to feel sorry for the staff. There seems to be tremendous turnover at the 23rd location, and no one seems happy to be working there. My other objection to this place is that Illy coffee isn't my thing -- we're in Portland, why not take advantage of one of the more delectable local roasters? Overall, an ok experience but I avoid it.
