Brisket! Oh Heavenly Brisket! Retro-Cool Building! – Yes it's Sunday, and we just went to the King Center, to view the new crypt of Coretta Scott King, and her husband, the great Martin Luther King, Jr. We wanted to go to a regular brunch, but BBQ, was in the air. Right at the corner of Edgewood/Boulevard, near where my grandmothers furniture store was once located, is Rolling Bone's. It's a great rehab of an old gas station. So nice, so trendy, and a great use of an old building. The draw here is the Brisket. Oh man, so tender, we had to bring a pound home. Thank goodness we took the Marta train over, because of the limited parking. Rolling Bones now qualify's for one of our fave BBQ joints.

Too Slick, Too Calculated, Too Packaged – It ain't Atlanta style pit BBQ. There are several more authentic pits within two blocks but they are not Disneyland squeaky-clean like this.

Good food but hard to get in and out – After reading all the reviews, my husband and I ran to the place. We've been looking for good bbq in Atlanta, and since we live in the city it is somehow a hard thing to find. We definitely loved the food (brisket and chicken were delicious). We went at lunchtime when it was packed so it took a little time to get the food but worth the wait. The only 2 reasons why we might not come back would be the constant nagging of the walk up peddlers and the very little parking/driving space. We literally were trapped for 15 minutes leaving b/c there is no room to manuever your car around the drive in patrons. I guess that is to be expected in the city though!

Throw out the Pit!!! – After tasting the food from Rolling Bones, I have promised never to use my own Weber ever again!!! Between the beef brisket (the best I have ever had) and the ribs, I now know what God will be serving in heaven! the place is clean and neat. the staff is kind and always willing to help or to make an adjustment if necessary. You haven't lived until you have their food!

Sweet Sauce – My husband and I did not care for the BBQ at this place. The sauce was vinegar based with a taste of pineapple. It was way too sweet. The actual meet did not have that down home smoked taste. Overall I say don't waste your time.

Shiny, happy diner expertly covers the barbecue basics on the edge of downtown. – The Scene
Filling-station chic meets a Johnny Rockets-like retro vibe in this neighborhood barbecue joint. The cozy dining room is a bright, clutter-free stab at greasy-spoon decor (an old-school Coca-Cola sign sits above a counter flanked by padded stools), which nicely contrasts with the homey, backyard feel of the central patio. Chipper servers keep the order line moving, but famished downtown professionals and nearby Cabbagetown residents don't mind the wait, as they're free to watch their orders being prepared in a small, sparkling kitchen.

The Food
Don't be fooled by the Styrofoam containers; this isn't throwaway barbecue. Pork ribs strike a perfect balance of tenderness and flavor, while fall-off-the-bone chicken is agreeably seasoned and sports a savory outer skin. Chopped pork, salty and swimming in sauce (hot or mild, both tangy), is a delight. Hearty french fries and zesty mustard greens stand out among the sides.

A TASTY SURPRISE – Found this place on a recent visit to Atlanta after visiting the King Center (within walking distance); excellent food and service, including a most hospitable co-owner...and the sweet tea is not to be missed!

Best BBQ in town! – This place deserves all the accolades it's been getting. The food is scrumptious (you can't beat their BBQ chicken), service is friendly and fast and it's a great-looking spot. These guys have got a winning combination. I love it!
