Delicious – The food was delicious. Every bite from the bread to the appetizer to the entree very tasty. The wine was good and the waiter was helpful. We went midweek, late to avoid the crowds, but the place still felt a little cramped. In the end, the bill was not so bad either. I would go back.

Nice Wines, Great Food – I've been to Al Di La Vino two or three times and always found it a great stop. Sometimes its a stepping stone to Al Di La the restaurant around the corner, sometimes it was my destination. I've had good service every time. I'm writing this review because the last review wasn't a review at all. It was a nasty rant of an angry person. It's as if she felt that this was her revenge on the wine bar. I hope people keep their rants to themselves. They aren't helpful. And for the record, no I don't work for the place or even know anyone who does. I'm just getting sick and tired of people ranting on food reviews and putting it off as if it was a real review.

Owner berates the customers - I will never eat here again – I have been coming to Al Di La for years and enjoying the food, despite long waits. I had out of town relatives visiting and decided to risk the wait and take our party of 8 for this culinary treat. We planned ahead and decided to eat early. This paid off as we were pleased to see the wine bar around the corner nearly empty at that hour and we were able to get a table immediately. As we all were arriving separately (many having trouble parking), there was perhaps a 15 minute lag between when we got our table and when the last of our party sat down. The owner came over and instead of thanking me for delivering lots of new business to his restaurant, he berated me in front of the table for the party not being fully present the moment we sat down. He accused me of lying to the hostess in order to get a table. Mind you, the wine bar was nearly empty so there was no reason for him to be concerned about other customers that are not able to be seated. There is absolutely no excuse for his behavior. There are many other restaurants in park slope that would have been happy to get our business and in the future I will be directing it to them. I will never eat here again.

Park Slopers' prayers are answered with this trattoria's new wine bar/waiting room. – The Scene
Fans of Anna Klinger's Venetian cooking at Al Di La only ever had one complaint: nowhere to wait for a table. Problem solved, thanks to this two-room wine bar around the corner. The wood bar, half-dozen tables and exposed-bulb lamps lend a cool vibe that's strikingly different from the restaurant's chabby-chic warmth. Service is smart and friendly, if sometimes a little slow.

The Food
It's not uncommon for diners to downscale their dinner plans with this affordable, fun-to-share menu. Three or four cicheti--Venetian tapas--make a fine meal: Creamy whipped cod arrives with grilled, herb-laced polenta squares, and sardines are marinated with plump raisins and onions. Don't skip the thin, fried-dough focaccette; flavored with sage, they're gorgeous with hand-sliced prosciutto and artisanal cheeses. Klinger's swiss chard-ricotta gnocchi are the only hot foods available, though diners who've requested entrees and desserts from the restaurant have been known to get lucky.
