The epitome of Denver's misplaced visions of grandeur – There's nothing worse than a city that tries to be something it's not. When you pick up the various nightlife publications of Denver, the pages are littered with words such as 'cosmopolitan', 'trendy' and 'sophisticated'. But in truth, Denver's nightlife is desperately monotonous. Hush epitomizes the city's yearning to be a big boy. The contemporary design looks dashing from afar - like the skyline of most American cities - but similarly at a micro level you'll find it to be false, cheap and awkward. It compliments Hush's clientele, who are a wretched bunch of ignorant, small minded characters who learnt how to speak and how to dress, by watching MTV. It would however, be unfair to lumber such distinctions on Hush alone, for you cannot fix what is broken. It is not LoDo, but rather Denver's embarrassing lack of cultural meaning and energy that makes this city so bland. It may have big roads and skyscrapers, government buildings and a population of around three million people, but it's bars and clubs must close at 1.45am. But wait, you say! If the clubs close early, people just go out earlier, don't they? Anyone with a reasonable understanding of the act of 'going out', would expect such an outcome. After all, 'going out' is a celebration of life. Dancing is the human mating ritual, and alcohol is the social glue that can bind the disparate elements of society and make them bearable. Therefore with restrictive laws, one would expect a reaction to occur - an alternative, where time is shifted forwards so that people can enjoy life, taste freedom, and have a good few hours of drinking and socializing. But in Denver, people come out at 11.30pm. They drink for two hours, try to find a suitable mate, and head home to the suburbs like good little citizens. By 2.30am, the streets of Downtown Denver are quiet once again, but for the briefest of winds circulating dust through the shiny tall buildings. 'Trendy' they will say, 'Cosmopolitan' they will lay, but Hush; I say nay.

Horrible Service and 'Typical' Crowd – Bottom Line: Horrible service and management. Drinks are overpriced. 'Dance floor' is 5x5 and music is so-so. Typical crowd of materialistic kids looking to hook up. Only plus is that the bathrooms are cool. I can't believe Hush is still in business.

Worst Club in Denver – This was by far the worst club i have ever been to. To be fair, I just moved here so it may be the norm but I don't think so. It is a very small room and the music they play is OK at best. The drinks are overpriced for what you get. The managers and waitresses don't care about your business and state so regularly. I was actually told by the manager that he was "rich" enough and didn't need additional business. Even though all my friends and I are in our early 30's and professional, I guess they are looking for the much younger crowd. If you are looking for a good club to just dance, relax and have fun, it isn't this one.

WOW. I'm at a loss... – I just don't know what was worse, the over-priced drinks or the slew of washed up barflies trying to gyrate on the dance floor. Ew. The place has this sensual, underground feel to it...could be due to the fact that it IS underground. And really, the lay out is quite nice. But seriously, the patrons are ridiculous and drinking there is nearly impossible. So why go?

Worst Bar EVER – Hush was the worst bar I have ever been to, it was the first time and the last time I will ever go there. The drinks are extreamly over priced, and the staff are the rudeest people I have ever encountered. It seems the only way the staff feel they can communiate is by rudely screaming and yelling at everyone. It amazes me that they can treat their customers like this and continue to stay open. Not to mention the smell as you walked in was horriable, it smelled like stale air and old beer.

Avoid like the plague! – Hush In Denver was very crowded and there were several gangbangers causing trouble inside. The bathrooms are coed and several customers were going in together and were clearly doing illegal activities. Being in a basement, the place had stale air and smelled of old beer. I Strongly reccomend staying away from this trouble spot. The line out side can be avoided if you pay the bouncer $50 or more to go inside a overcrowded armpit. There are three much better bars within walking distance of this questionable place.

Not fooling anybody – Just because there are candles and a "trendy" facade doesn't make it any better that you are drinking overpriced drinks in a small basement. This place is lame.

Smush – First the pros: great music, beautiful people,

Cons: horribly rude strung out door men, not sure what state they think they are in: overly crowded, bartenders charge up credit cards (look out!), expensive drinks if you can get up to the bar at all, up to $20 cover, long wait in line, way to dark,
