Last year I wrote a review regarding the Beech Grove Wesleyan Church. I am saddened that I must withdraw my former review. I have been greatly disappointed in the way that the church is being run. It is so sad that a church, which should be a place to worship God has been replaced by a social place without Christian leadership. I pray that God will intervene and help the church to become what it is intended.

Questionable Place to Worship – If you are looking for a place of worship that will teach you about the Bible and uplift your spirit then DON'T go to the Beech Grove Wesleyan Church at 120 South 4th Avenue.

The people there are very caring and kind but the Pastor himself doesn't deserve the title or respect that comes with it. In his sermons you learn more about his political views: 1.) racists: he said in a sermon that "we have one of those in the White House" 2.) sexist: he believes women should be treated the way the bible says as property 3.) homophobic: as per him the Bible only talks of a man being with a woman anything else is an abomination (it is a well know fact that throughout history men have kept boy servants/slaves to do their "bidding").

Now to show you his compassion. When my Father (65yrs old) was starting radiation for Thyroid Cancer we had went to pick up food for the food pantry. While dropping it off at the church the Pastor shows up and then takes my Father (the Chairman of the food pantry) into a room alone and slams the door, I kept putting stuff up and unloading things. Then about 30-40 minutes later they come out and my Father was crying. When I asked what had happened he said the Pastor had yelled at him and told him that he wanted things done his way and no other. This was when my Father was as his most vunerable. What kind of Pastor does this.

And one final thought. To show how petty and vindictive he is. I wrote a letter to the Pastor over his head about what he was doing. He breaks all kinds of rules set by the people that give you the food for the food pantry, after he found out he blamed my father for my actions(saying of course that I, a 38 year old woman can't think for herself.(can we say sexist?)). He not only took the Chairmanship of the food pantry from him but threatened to throw him out of a church that my father attended before the Pastor was even there. He expects my Father, a grown man to do what he says when he says it.

Pastor Emery said it best and it got to me when he made this comment, "We are all servants to our communities, and that includes everyone, even Pastors and that we are all suppose to be help accountable."

Thanks for letting me rant and rave.
