Way too expensive.... Salon THINKS it's hugely upscale – Really Expensive!! I was there for 2 1/2 hours (my stylist was 15 minutes late). She did a touch up of my roots with color (my hair is a little more than chin length) and put maybe 8 foils in to add a few higlights and the bill was $195. Wow- I don't make $100 an hour, why should my stylist. This salon is not a Maiden Lane salon and my stylist isn't Yosh. I'll never go back.

RYAN! Best highlights and blowout as usual!! – I just wanted to make sure everyone knew where Ryan moved to. If they were like me, they would have been lost without her!! I love the new salon, so much energy, I love the neighborhood, and best of all I love her. She has been doing my highlights various shades of blonde for a couple of years now and I still get stopped on the street often! Still my favorite time to book my appointment is before a night on the town because her blowdry is runway quality!!

Wade is my hair god! – I followed Wade from Santa Cruz to San Francisco - he's been cutting my hair for over 15 years - because he always makes me look good, his hair cuts last and are easy to maintain, I get complements on my hair continually, and he takes the time to show me tips and tricks on how to dry and style my hair or create special effects. He's also a fun and sweet human being.

The receptionists are very hospitable and helpful at Acabello, and the atmosphere is pleasant. From Wade's chair, you get to look out over California Street below. I usually park at Japan Town and enjoy taking in some of the great shops and eateries along Fillmore before or afterward.

Following Rhian to Acabella! – I just had my first visit to Acabella, following my stylist Rhian who recently moved there. I think Rhian is a wonder. She has been doing my hair for a couple of years now. She is a perky little thing, and she has the skills! After talking it over, she recently convinced me to cut my hair into a new shape. It kind of scared me, but I love the result and I can maintain it easily myself. She continues to do an excellent job on my coloring .......... I enjoyed my introduction to the salon. I tend to be intimidated by hair places, but everyone there was friendly and I felt welcomed and pampered. The paintings were striking. Parking is an issue, but where isn't it any more? .......... I couldn't be more satisfied and highly recommend Rhian to anyone looking for someone new to consult, and you'll have a great time at Acabella as well.

Great Color, Great Service – I went to Julie to get a great hi-light, and she gave just that to me ... exactly what I wanted - natural yet bright blonde - not chunky. She's very friendly - and I would def. recommend her.

Wade through time and space with fabulosity! – I've been seeing Wade for about a year and let me tell you - what a year it's been! Whew! Well, at least my hair always looks fabulous. This master hair crafter possesses an "eye for dye" and a talent for cut and color placement that Jonathan of Blowout fame would surely envy, and his services are quite affordable considering the level of expertise.

Wade was doing my hair hot pink at the crown and black on top, and we've recently added chocolate brown highlights to the black, and burgundy to the pink. I've received compliments in unexpected places. Yes, my hair is a labor-intensive project but Wade succeeds with, if you'll pardon the pun, dyeing colors!

He is fun, stylish, cheerful and witty - a joy to be around. Glenda's work looks great, too. In fact, the entire staff of Acabello from the hospitable receptionists to the competent stylists could rock your hair Casbah if you let them, and you can meet friends and the occasional celebrity in the process. (That's where I first encountered Katie from SKN medical spa, another neighborhood find that I wouldn't do without.)

I love how Wade uses electric clippers on the blown dry ends of my hair to give it a thick, paintbrush-like line. It's touches like this that make Wade and Acabello stand apart.

So make an appointment, or as Wade's card says, "no appointment with reality". Acabello is surrealistically delicious and high in protein! The god of all that is follicular will bring you a steaming cup of green tea upon seating you, and during the Xmas season, offer you a chocolate bar. Heck, the last time I went in he served me up some chips and salsa.

Aw, just go already!

Ellena Goodson – Is the BEST. I've recommended three of my girlfriends there and they have done nothing but rave about her and sent on the message to other women in need of a fantastic cut. I've honestly never been to a hair dresser that I was this enthusiastic about. She is just amazing. Great to talk to, very friendly, but best of all she is hands down the best hair stylst I've ever been to. She'll take whatever vision or idea you have and make it work on you. Her prices are very competitive, in fact I'd pay a lot more than what she charges for what she has done for me!!

Get in and Get transported! – In Wade's chair YOU are the center of the universe. With Wade, you get the vocals and the guitar. He riffs off your personal style, rhyming your hair style with your attitude. In a word: he is the best.

Elena Goodson. Period. After 5 years of going to Acabello, It's time for me to introuce you to the best in town. – The day that I climbed into Elena's chair, upon a recommendation from a fellow Acabello employee, my life changed forever. Ladies, after years of keeping her under wraps with the exception of close friends....I had to breach my vow of silence. After reading a few reviews, I am left with one question: Glenda Who? Sorry, but after years of watching other's clients walk out the door I couldn't be a better source for a review. Elena is hands down the best, and I am confident you will agree. She is amazing with long hair, can be trusted with a "vision", and extremely cool to boot. I have sent tons of friends, and everyone single person has loved her. The salon itself is fantastic. The employees are artistic, friendly, and chill. They have great products (Kerastase, Bumble, etc) and are always super helpful.
