Not upto expectation – Food tastes good.......but doesnt have variety...hardly 2 or 3 varieties of side dish was there...not worth for the money paid..
a must go if u like indian foods – I went to taj of india on the first day I moved here and I gotta tell ya, I love the freaking food there. Great place.
A Hidden Treasure.... – Castleton- HASSLETON-esp. around X-mas time. My friend and I were on 82nd street trying to get our last min. shopping done at the Mall. But everyone knows how bad the traffic is around this time. Frustrated and wanting to get out of the car, we started looking around trying a find a place to relax so we can go to the mall later and enjoy ourselves. My friend suggested we go to Taj of India but I was scared-because I never had Indian food before. Somehow..she convinced me and we went. As we rushed in the restaurant from the cold weather outside, it was warm, comfy, and beautiful little place filled with pictures and calming music slowing playing in the back. Our server was very nice-she could tell it was my FIRST time from the way i was acting-little confused trying to figure out what I want. She asked me few questions, whether i like my food spicy or not , If i want chicken or shrimp Then she suggested me a dish, which i forgot the name of already. Regardless, it was yummy. My tummy was very happy and it was not spicy at all, which was what i was afraid off because I thought indian food was HOT. Boy, was i wrong....it was DELICIOUS. I am going to take my boyfriend there very soon for our romantic night out.
Great menu with tasty selections – Greeted and seated right away on a Saturday night. Menu is vast. Covers a lot of Indian dishes I haven't seen other places. Food is very good. Biryani is awesome! I'm used to spicy food, however, I could only tolerate medium spice level chicken tikka masala. Great quality food!
Vegetarian – I've dined at many Indian restaurants around the world and this is one of the best! The Sag Paneer is incredible. I live in Texas however when I'm in Indy, I make a special trip to the Taj of India!
