Mon. - Sun. 24 Hours
We have been going to Top Notch for at least five years, and when I ask my wife where she wants to go, she says, you know where! We live in Chicago, and it takes about 25 minutes, by way of expressways, but it is worth it.
You're always greeted by a member of the staff who asks where you would like to sit, e.g. Booth, table, counter, window. When the waitress comes and greets you, she'll ask what you would like to drink while looking over your menu. Patrons have been going to their favorite waitress, and they know what your drinking, and bring it out as soon as you arrive. They quickly refill your drink when it nears the bottom.
They have daily specials including 2 different soups. The menu has a great selection, from breakfast to steaks, any time of day, 24 hours. All of which should meet any appetite. Complete meals include Coffee, soup, salad, entree, potato, vegetable, desert, bread and butter, for about $10 per person. They have a large variety of sandwiches, including fresh gyros. There is enough food to feed a hearty appetite, with plenty to take home. People are consistently taking home "doggy" boxes. Many customers have been going there for years and the folks are friendly.
Craigslist....(DON'T Eat at Top Notch in Highland) – Sounds pretty ridiculous. Thought I would share what I read on Craigslist about Top Notch....

"I ended up with f00d p0is0ning there. I called and you know what the manager did not care at all. I think they should close the place down. They are so afriad you want a free meal. No, we want better food!"
Traditonal "Greek" Dining – Yes, you get a greek olive in your salad. No ethnic colloquialism intended but Greeks have been known for food preparation. This is not an exception. Daily specials. Salad, rolls, dinner, coffee and dessert. Portions large enough to share and without objection or hassle. And a mint on the way out. Simplicity at it's best.
