A Must Visit Vintage Clothing Shop – If you're into Vintage, this shop is a must; a real gem. Catering mostly to unique evening and dressier wear; there are some designer day wear pieces; all kinds of furs; purses; shoes; belts; jewelry and other accessories not to be missed. Be sure to ask for the owner for she will turn your visit into a sartorial experience full of fun and fantasy, and of course laughs. Her creativeness in pairing items or in suggesting the right shoes and accessories for an outfit are worth the trip alone. Her knowing eye won't let you buy something that doesn't work for you, but she will challenge you to dare to wear certain looks and will show you how to make them work for you, and offers alterations. It's amazing how many treasures are to be found in this tiny gem. It always reminds me of playing dress ups, but the stuff is way better than any clothes anyone was ever allowed to play with and you get to actually wear it out! Prices are reasonable.
Editorial Review – Women's vintage apparel for a unique and traditional look.
Amazing vintage clothing. – Wow, what an amazing find. The New York Vintage Club has the most spectacular clothing available anywhere. It is so very special to wear a one-of-a-kind garment and that is exactly what you will get here.
The owner, Jeanetta, has the most discerning eye...she can immediately access your style and at the same time steer you to greater heights...she really knows her stuff. When I step out in her clothing I literally have to carry her business cards to accommodate the quiries I receive from admirers. Her clothing is that special and so unique. Jeanetta also keeps an 'eye out' for clothing that comes in that would be just right for me. I now have the most beautiful pieces of clothing that I have ever owned. Also, what is so important is that she has a tailor available and she will work with them so the garment is just perfect....every piece will have a couture fit...how amazing. Treat yourself and stop by to see Jeanetta... your heart will soar.
Best vintage shop – Nearly four years ago, I stumbled across NY Vintage Club walking home from
Bed Bath and Beyond on 1st Avenue. Since then, my family and friends tell
me I look like a movie star. I certainly feel like one inside, which is
priceless. The boutique is like a candy store for a little kid, filled with
designer dresses, furs, bags, shoes, jewelry and hats from every period.
Janetta, the owner is very knowledgeable and after chatting with me my first
time in the store now knows exactly what I like . and what looks good on my
body. Every piece I buy is stunning: a jeweled floor length opera coat
that causes people on the street to stop and stare admiringly; a satin
evening gown with fox trimmed sleeves and neckline; a Sophia Lauren shaped
little black cocktail dress that elegantly plunges in the front to reveal
just enough cleavage; a jeweled short coat in the most perfect green color;
a great short mink jacket that is incredible luxurious; little beaded tops
that I wear with jeans or under suits - the list goes on. Janetta can
transform something that doesn't fit well into a tailor made piece -
bringing in a seamstress who follows her instructions to recreate the item.
There's never been a single time that I don't receive a positive comment
when wearing these clothes. I'm always writing down the store's address and
number for someone. But the best part about the NY Vintage Club experience
is that no matter how many people buy something from the store, no one will
every look like anyone else -- because every piece is unique.
