Fresh-baked goods, fresh-brewed coffee and creative sandwiches served up in relaxed, roomy surroundings. – In Short
Bright colors and comfortable furniture give this chain cafe a laid-back feel, with scattered tables that beckon coffee-sipping readers, chatters and diners. All baked goods--bagels, muffins, two dozen kinds of bread--are made fresh on the premises. Sandwiches include turkey-artichoke panini and Asiago roast beef, plus standards like chicken salad and smoked turkey. Soups change daily, but popular choices like broccoli and cheese, chicken noodle and French onion are always on the menu.
I need more than a fireplace – I have not been to this Panera. I have only been to the one at Polaris a couple of times. I can get a fresh sandwich anywhere. I have only tried two of Paneras. The Chicken Salad was bland and I love an Italian but this just did not do it for me. Is the special sauce mayonaise? I was definitely not impressed. A friend ordered a half sandwich and soup and complained about the small size of the sandwich. In all fairness it is a half sandwich, but his did not speak well to a meal that was over $6.50
I do like the coffees. The ambience was nice but there were several dirty tables and a lot of crumbs and litter on the floor. The counter help, as I remember were pretty nice.
I do like the breads and have ordered them for groups and parties in the past but you better order in advance because the breads are par baked in a commissary somewhere and only finished off here. So if you need several loaves of a particular bread you may need to give more that 2 days notice. I thought this was fresh baked bread? There is actually a nice bakery in Westerville that bakes fresh, one day notice is fine, and they actually open at 2 in the morning. Think it's Schneiders or Snyders.
Awful – I love Panera Bread but this location is consistently awful. We have visited 4 times, and on each occasion they have run out of something we wanted to order, and that includes the bread bowls. How can that be?? The news is delivered with a shrug and no apology. The food they do offer, however, is fresh and tasty. Just be prepared to dine on your second or third choice...
