Highly dangerous place to call home – My sister has been living at these apartments for a little less than a year now. The homeless sneak in the doors that are not locked and roam freely in the building even though all residents are required to check in the front door and all guests have to sign in with the front attendants. They have security cameras that are faulty and some of them don't even work. Two days ago on March ninth her boyfriend was attacked by a homeless man in the hallway. The attack ended up outside where he put Chris in a choke hold and bit into his face, arms, and leg. Nobody stopped to help even though there was an obvious struggle going on. Eventually a friend of Chris's passed by and called the police. Chris and his friend beat the hell out of this 200 pound, African American homeless man. Chris was hospitalized and left with severe wounds all over his body. He is pressing full charges for assault and battery. The homeless man was also hospitalized and sent to prison, The owner of this building and it's staff claim they cannot do anything about securing the building, the doors remain open and anybody can freely enter. This is bullS..this building is dangerous, bug infested, dirty, full of druggies, the staff suck ass, and they are F-ing rude and unfriendly. It's cheap, not worth it, and a horrible place to call home. Screw Island Village and everybody that runs it. It's nothing but a crack hole.

I'd curse a lot more if were allowed-

It's downtown – I have live at this place for 2 years now. This is downtown, of course you are gonna see things that the normal person doesn't like and it is only common sense, it will leak into the apartment complex. The staff work very hard, and i have found them to be fair. I didn't like the rent increase, but i guess thats life. The rent is still cheaper than anywhere else downtown, which is why it's affordable housing, hence, all the paperwork. You have to do it when you move in and every year after that and if your not hiding anything, it's easy!!! There are pests in this world, i know its hard for some people to grasp that fact. I had to wait over a year for a parking spot, but i understand why. If they don't have it, they can't give it. Over all, i give this place a 9 out of 10.

guh – Why do you need one hundred words I searched for appartments in San Diego and the results came back with not a single place in San Diego. I remebered this place from walking down town. the nearby list is correct there are resturants real close. theres the hot dog place, 7-11, real nice mexican restaurant I liked the breakfast the most. as for the rest not so near but not too far away either I could easilly walk to them. The closest grocery store was albertsons witch is nice I have a card for that I usually don't have time for coupons. So thankyou for mentioning the nearby. Maybe you should include close to Trolley its what makes me take another look. Most places say close to buses though.
