Disappointed in last visit – Disappointed from last years visit. The price of my order increased $2 from my last visit, which was to be expected considering the increases in food costs thruout the nation. I had the lamb kabob which went from 2 to 1 and the portion of the lamb on the kabob was smaller too. I had asked for "rare" and to me, rare means just that, not medium but rare, and not cool to touch. By the time I was served my meal, it was cool, barely pink on the inside, but tasty. The rest of the order was substantial in size and quality. However, my wife's order, and the order of one of the couple who were dining with us was delivered incorrectly. My wife wanted the greek salad rather than the rice and she got rice with her salmon kabob (which were on the smallish side). Our friend had ordered the lamb kabob with rice and he got the salad (not the greek salad mind you). They had ordered the stuffed grape leaves and that never arrived either. So, the service sucked. Apologies can only go so far IMO. The place, not crowded on a Thursday evening at 7ish, was noisy and cold, which may have contributed to my cold lamb kabobs.. I'm really disappointed when I compaired this to our last visit where the chef prepared the lamb pieces to pefection and they were grilled to perfection on the outside and rare as ordered on the inside. I wonder if this chef was the one from Hilltop, because the last time we ate there, the lamb was over cooked. I always tell the waitstaff that when I say "rare" I like it juicy, no other way. I'd eat it raw if they allowed it.
Once Great – I have been a long time fan of Mediterranean food.. I visit most area businesses that serve this style.. I have been to this place many times over the years and it has Demished to a new low..
for the past few months I was hopeing it was a phase but the Desaster at dinner last night just push me ...
Ther service has never been good but last night was beyound bad..
when the food Finally arrived .. The salad was Lettuce . pickles and 1 Peppercini.. nothing else... and one chicken kabob not a dinner just one spear.. it was like trying to eat a dog biscut.. .. then the bill arrived $23 for a small salad and one kabob...
I wont even talk about the trouble with paying ....
DO NOT GO HERE
GREAT restaurant, food – How Azar's gets a 7.1 rating baffles me. The owner, food and service are all outstanding. The owner makes a point to visit each table and talk to each guest. There is a good variety of various Mediterranean dishes (also some Middle Eastern food items available in their little shop inside) and served at a very reasonable price. Check out Middle Eastern night on Saturdays (belly dancers, hookahs)... call ahead. The only drawback is that there is limited parking. Otherwise, great food and a great overall experience. Highly recommended!
