Moved us twice in three weeks - excellent in all aspects both times
We used Jordan River moving to move into our new house. We are so disappointed with the quality of the service. They have messed up so many things and make the whole experiences so painful. I am listing some of the issues here based on the order of severity
a. They forgot to take the shelves in our media center cabinet from the truck. We ended up with a media center without shelves.
b. They did not properly installed our beds. We have to reinstall the beds ourselves and found bolts missing. So far, no luck in finding replacement bolts.
c. We have to hire someone to clean the carpet in the old house because they walked from back yard to front yard through the house carrying flower pot which is dripping mud water.
d. We have to fix our electric recliner because it stopped working. Some force during the move pushed the power button in. Luckily, we managed to get the power button out. Do not know how long it will last.
e. They disappeared on the way from our old place to new place. We were waiting for them and wondering if they got lost. Later, they told us that they went to have dinner on the way. It is fine to have dinner, but we should not be charged for it and we should be informed.
We were told that it will take 4-4.5 hours to move our stuff when they do the initial walk through. It took them 9 hours. It is a THREE member crew. It is a surprise to us that the move takes this long. A lot of boxes are also putted into the wrong rooms in the new house. Today, we are doing the micro-move within the house: dragging boxes from bedroom to kitchen.
Do not use this company for any local move! Otherwise, you will regret it!
A top floor unit became available in my building and I jumped at the chance to take it, with no moving plan in place. I was able to book Jordan Moving Saturday morning with only a few days notice.
I received a call at 8:20 asking if I could use them a little early, what a nice surprise, when does that ever happen? The guys showed up at 8:30 and were ready to go with all of the necessary tools and then some. The were in good shape, strong, great communicators and exceptionally professional. These guys knew what they were doing. I had the elevator reserved at 9 AM and scrambled to find someone in my building to lock down the elevator early. The guys were great and professional about this little hitch and worked around the issue until 9:15 when we were finally able to get the elevator to cooperate.
They never complained once even though I have a large and heavy queen size bedroom set, a glass top solid metal dining table with four crazy heavy solid metal chairs and a two piece armoire cabinet that has been known to make grown men cry. I had an extra dining table in my apartment that would not fit into my new unit, they happily disassembled it, wrapped it in shrink wrap and put it in my storage unit. The guy was a pro and also fixed my bed slats that were loose and making my bed unstable. The other mover was really great as well and didn't act like I was a crazy person even though I was on three hours of sleep in 48 hours and probably was a little crazy.
The entire move took exactly two hours and not one item was broken or misplaced. Having had some really awful moving experiences in the past, I know a fantastic one when I see it! On my highly recommended list and I will use them again.
I've used them twice and have been 100% satisfied with their service. Competetive pricing and careful moving. Need I say more?
Your three moving professionals were easy to get along with, took extra care to protect all of our furniture and worked very efficiently. Even though the move required more hours than estimated, it wasn't because the movers didn't make every minute count.
Jordan River is a fair priced moving company with honest, hard-working staff. The were not the cheapest, but in my experience, they were the best. I have used many moving companies to move in/out of high-rises which is a good test of efficiency and they made the mark. They are also willing to bring stuff from Oregon at a cost cheaper than the moving company that has it storage. They really do deserve high marks!
I had these guys move me from a 1-bedroom condo to a townhouse last weekend. They did a pretty good job. They completed the move in a little under 3 hours and required pretty much no supervision. If I move again anytime soon, I'll definitely be using these guys again.
We used the "2 man move" option to move our 1 bed+den apartment in Redmond to Bellevue. The whole move took 5hrs with 1 additional stop to collect our new furniture.
The movers arrived at about 8am and wasted no time in moving the pre-packed boxes and our furniture. I guess we were slowed down because one of the apartment's elevator is not working (just our luck).
We worked with Jason via email to schedule our move. He was very prompt in responding to us.
In all, the move was alright. They moved our LED TV safely. Our furniture was intact except for our sofa chair, which one leg broke - we only noticed it after they left. Well, we will give these movers the benefit of doubt as we are not sure if the sofa's leg is broken during the move (and they fixed it back) OR it is because it is old :/
This is my 15th move and by far the best. It was the FIRST time movers showed up when they said they would. They parked the truck, opened the doors, and did not stop moving until my apartment was empty and the truck loaded. They move quickly, but carefully, wrapped all our wooden furniture, put blankets down on the floor, and asked when there was a question about an item. On the other end, they were just as efficient and careful with our items. JR was the third company I called. The first two were highly rated on Yelp, but seemed like hacks when I spoke with them. One guy wanted to shove my boxes through an upper floor window, told us that anything that didn't fit on the truck we'd have to move ourselves, and gave us an estimate $300 higher (I'm not kidding). When I called JR, the front office staff was professional and courteous, they emailed me an estimate with all the details we discussed, gave us a choice in moving dates, and called the day before to confirm. I liked that Jordan River had a set amount for travel time, they sent three guys (when other companies were only going to send two), and bill in 15 minute increments rather than 1/2 hour.
