Competence with caring. Rose Hill took care of my two dogs through their final months. One dog had a degenerative spinal disorder and the other, cancer. The staff clearly cared about the pups and took very good care of them. Dr. Frieberg doesn't excell in bedside manner, but we felt his veterinary skills were very good. Dr. Amanda was more personable but equally competent, we felt. They helped my husband and I and our precious pets through very difficult times, and we recommend them to our friends.
Your Pet will be taken care of while at Rose Hill Animal Hospital. Rose Hill Animal Hospital is one of the best animal hospitals I have brought my pets to. The front desk staff ALWAYS knows who I am and more importantly, WHO MAY PETS ARE. If I call for a doctor to call me or for a prescription request, I never have to worry about it being taken care of. They care like my animal is their own. My furry family members will be taken care of at Rose Hill and I never worry when I leave them there. I highly recommend them for your full service vet services and confidence that your pet will be taken care of.
Not Recommended.
The support staff/assistants are friendly; the vet (frieberg (sp?)) seems to have very minimal social skills and seems to be put off with too many questions. I've been there 3 times - once for a full vet visit and the other times for inoculations. The two non-vet visits he neither acknowledged me or my dog while putting his attention on the younger assistant behind the desk. I would expect some sort of acknowledgement or greeting. He also has a great card in his office (in plain view of the waiting area) stating something to the effect of "50 worse jobs." Very tacky. I personally view veteranarians still within the customer-service sector and think this guy may need to go back to a lab. He obviously doesn't enjoy nor take much pride in his job.
On a side-note. I had to go back because of a mistake they made. I had to then repeat- The second time I visited I had to witness an extremely distraught/sobbing woman exiting the front door and heading to her car. 30 seconds behind was a large box obviously containing a dead dog, out of the main entrance into a different vehicle. Is there not a side door? I would rather pull an "Of Mi ce and Men" than go there to have my dog euthanized.
Never again.
My usual vet was pretty sure my kitten had developed FIP. So a friend had referred me to Rose Hill for a 2nd opinion/additional information. The doctor was very odd, arrogant and almost rude. He just walked around the room and did nothing really. Looked in my cats eyes, listened to his heart and then based his diagnosis on what he thought was going on despite the history of the cat that i had told him. I even tried to make all previous tests available to him. He treated me like I was insulting him and wouldnt really even make eye contact. He kept saying "yep, he's a cat" "he's still a cat" That should of been my first inclination to run Shame on me for having hope to save a 5 month old kitten I guess.
He felt that a high dose steroid was going to make a dramatic difference. So $90 later I walked out with a small bottle of pills that were to have no side effects (I asked, twice) except to increase the appetite and activity of my cat. The dr then told me he would be calling in three days to check up on him to make sure the dose was showing improvement.
So my 5 month old little kitten on his bed pumped full of (what i now know to be) a huge almost chemo therapy dose of steroids, just layed there with his eyes open in a dead stare, never being able to sleep or move. I would think that would be a VERY BIG side effect that I should be aware of. If that doctor really cared about my pet or my business, he would of called to check up on my kitten like he said, who three days later had died.
Not because of the steroids or the doctor, but because he had FIP. I really felt this doctors arrogance sent me away with a false hope that he was going to be able to help my cat. I feel like he just took my money and I cant help but feel like i got swindled.
Since then I receive cards from them with $10 coupons and invitations to events. They never once called me to check on my cat, yet all their "promotional" mailings are sent to him.
If you love your pet, don't take them here.. My Schnauzer, Quincy has been a patient of this clinic for 13 years. Over that time he had to endure many costly and uncomfortable test and treatments, but the Doctors could never seem to find what was wrong or cure what was ailing my dog. From chronic ear infections, severe allergies, and most recently Camcer. All diognosis missed by Rose Hill and the staff. Every one. I had to challenge their findings each and everytime and get a second opinion which not only contriticted what Rose Hill was trying to tell me, but they were right every time. About 10 months ago. Quincy was not acting like himself. His ballance was off and would have a hard time just walking. Dr. Frieberg told he he would take some more test at over $180 and it would take 2 weeks to get the results. Again I went out for a second opinion. This time I also had my dogs medical records. After reviewing the records the other vet found my dog had a Thyroid issues and Immune system problem, which could be Cancer. I was in shock. How could this had been missed by Rose Hill? I allowed the vet to take another test to compare to the one I was still waiting for from Rose Hill. This was on a Friday. I was amazed the next day I received a call from the other vet with test results. One day. Not 2 weeks. The result of which was not good news. Quincy had Lymphomic Cancer and was 80% advanced making it untreatable. Once I did get the test results back from Rose Hill, again, they found nothing. I informed them that I wanted my permanent records transferd to my new vet. Aerowood Animal Hospital of Bellevue. Quincy was treated with great care and love there. They genuinely care for animals there at Aerowood. Quincy lost his battle with Cancer 2 days ago, I feel deep in my heart had I found Aerowood sooner, he would still be alive today. Do you and your pets a favor and run from Rose Hill as fast as you can. The life you save could be your dogs.

Rude Customer Service. I just hung up with one of the most rude receptionists I've run into in a long time! We have to head out of town on short notice for the weekend and need to board our two mini dachshunds. Our usual kennel is full so we called Rose Hill on the recommendation of a friend - what a mistake! I guess current clients may be treated ok but I'm not sure how you actually become a new client. I went through the third degree with this receptionist just to get her to understand that I had never boarded there before. She told me we had to bring the dogs in for a pre-exam before boarding. Understandable, but the dogs had just boarded at our vet two weeks prior and had shots and their one year check up. When I asked if I could forward their records I was told that they were not acceptable because our vet was not from one of their sister locations. When I asked if they could receive this check up during their stay I was told no. What a racket! I guess everyone's got to find a way to make a buck one way or another! How disappointing!
User review by ks98033. We take our dog in everyday while we're at work and he absolutely loves it! He's been going since he was just a few months old and they have always been so good to him - he gets so excited when we get there, he scratches at the door to get in. The few times he's had to go in for services, they took great care of him. While he's there during the day, they take him for walks and let him play outside several times a day and its much more reasonable than other places we'd looked into. And the people there are great! I would (and do) recommend it to anyone!
They LOVE animals.... My dog cannot WAIT to go to the vet now that he goes to Rose Hill. They know each animal and each owner in depth. They take such good care of the animals whether it is for a doctor visit or boarding. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. The staff is so sweet and caring, I trust them completely with my animals. The pricing is just a bit more than most but the office hrs cannot be beat! They are open from 7am-9pm which is perfect for a working person such as myself.
