best italian in town – their risotto is out of this world!!! specially the mushroom risotto!!! i can t believe it!!!..it s like a home away from home for me! and their service is fast and kindly. the only cons is that it's difficult to park anywhere around the restaurant!

Pretty good, not great. – Decent Italian - had the seafood stew and a caesar salad, but wasn't totally impressed for the price.

Can't wait to go back! – Went to dinner there last night for the second time and had a truly amazing meal. I would highly recommend going there on a weekday versus and weekend because the atmosphere is much more relaxed and the chef comes out a bit more to hang out. He also served us an amuse bouche (sp?), a mini-starter of Ahi, white asparagus and cucumber, I could of eaten a whole plate. The Burrata (kind of like a Caprese salad) was to die for, the best I have ever had. My entree was the special for the evening, a shrimp and linguini pasta, great. Also, our waitress was really great and knowledgeable about the menu. My only complaint... $15 corkage fee is just a little high.

Best little restaurant! – Great food, friendly service, FANTASTIC desserts (don't miss the peanut butter gelato if you are a peanut butter fan, nor the fresh strawberry tart).

Great food, Great ambience, Great service! – We live close by and have gone there several times. We initially first ventured in since it's within walking distance of our home. When it came to choosing a place for our anniversary dinner, we just had to go there since the overall experience - food, service, ambience, everything - is always so wonderful.

Never Going Here Again--Terrible Staff, Rude Experience, Spreading The Word... – Having frequented Osteria about a dozen times since it opened, I've never truly had a top notch experience. I've had everything from romantic dinners for two and celebratory parties of 10 plus, yet never had something not go wrong at Osteria. Whether it is the wait (even with a reservation) the rude staff at the front, or terrible borderline idiotic waiters, Osteria ALWAYS leaves me and those in my dining party disappointed.

Our last dining experience at Osteria (about two months ago) was hindered by a waiter who screwed up our order completely by forgetting to place my girlfriend's appetizer order and wrote down the wrong entree entirely for my father. How does one hear veal instead of fish?!?!?

When friends of ours wanted to go again this weekend we decided to give it one last chance, and Osteria, as always, didn't fail to disappoint again.

Their latest gaff shall result in my never returning to the restaurant--ever! We had our reservation confirmed twice by two separate parties (with one of the calls coming from the restaurant itself to re-confirm). However when we showed up at our scheduled time, Osteria claimed we were over 45 minutes late. After making a fairly calm stink, the rude hostesses told us that it was a 30-45 minute wait. Not only that they were unwilling to put us at the front of the waitlist?!?!? They told us it was our fault and were unwilling to do anything to fix this screw up.

As a result we called our friend and host David Rozansky at Brentwood Restaurant & Lounge who promptly sat us 15 minutes later on a crowded weekend evening.

Bottomline, with over a dozen Italian restaurants in Brentwood: Peppone, Toscana, Vicente, Drago, Divino, Pizzicotto, et al I'd recommend not bothering with Osteria. The food and prices aren't worth all the headaches.

5 Star Experience at Great Pricing – I loved it! The service was excellent. The chef greeted us and checked if our meal was pleasing; the hostess sat us at the wait time she projected; the waiter was welcoming, and so on. From the outward appearance, I thought my wife and I were going to eat at another pretentious restaurant. To my surprise, it was warm and inviting.

My gnocchi was good and my wife's lobster ravioli was great. She raved about the sauce. When I judge a place I compare service, pricing, ambiance and food quality. For the price, there are not too many places better. The differentiator was the flavor and unique blending of ingredients vs. the price of the meal. The pickiest of palates will find the food refreshing. I highly recommend the experience.

Finally a GREAT Restaurant – Having visited three times, I am thrilled that the food only gets better on each visit. I had the Delmonico steak on my last visit and it was amazing!!! On my prior visits I have had the ravioli as well as the fish, all were exceptional. The service was awesome and the wies were very complimentary to each dish. I would highly recommend this restaurant as one of the best along San Vicente blvd, as well as among the West Side!!!

Impressed – I have visited this restaurant twice and the food was really good both times (gnocchi first, seafood pasta second). It is noisy sometimes, and it is a smaller space (I would NOT recommend this place for larger groups), but it is worth it for the multi-course presentation and quality. The prices are certainly reasonable for what we get. I know some local folks who did not even know the restaurant was there because the entrance is small and on a bustling section of San Vincente near Barrington, but it is easy to get to from all directions.

ick – I used to go to this place, but no longer. I thought the food was good, not anymore. Rude staff, sometimes the food arrives like it's been sitting underneath a heat lamp. At least at the Olive Garden I don't leave hungry.
