Don't waste your money here – Where to start?
How about the reservation, and then the seating, first in the bar by the door and bus tubs!! No thanks, Oh you wanted the the dinning area? Duh, reservations made for 2 at the BAR, give me a break. Next, the waiter, ordered the wine and he know nothing about who is to approve wine quality, just pours into glasses, Oh BTW can we have some water (highball glass)?
Next after being sold on the "excellent Oysters on the half shell" and Entrées we ordered, and waited and waited and waited. The Oysters showed up and within 1 minute the entrées showed up too. Oh BTW can we have some water ?
The Oysters appreared as if they had been opened with a fork as the meat was destroyed and for the price, don't waste your money, go to Pappadeaux,

100.00 for Food I didn't want to eat. – We have gone here for a few years now and I think the food has gone down hill.
3 years ago my wife and I had a wonderful dinner here and enjoyed everything about the place.
Last year we ate here and the food was so-so
This year, besides the 30$s a plate, the food was just not very good. I had Bacon wrapped shrimp with grits and I could not even eat all of the 4 jumbo shrimp. Not because it was to much food, only 4 shrimp, but because it was not very good at all!!! My wife had catfish that was soggy.
I was a big fan of this place when my wife and I ate here back in 2007, but every time I go back it gets worse. I will not return. I hope you don't either.
horrid for 116.00 (for 2) – worst seafood ever!!!!! i've never spent so much and been physcally ill with in a hour of eating it. king crab was too salty,crab cake was ok lobster was tough and steak was not good calamari was undercooked
Best Fish in Austin – I happened in to McCormick & Schmick's one afternoon with my family and was SHOCKED. The Service was upscale, the atmosphere was incredible, and the food was TERRIFIC. i had a white fish that was tender and moist. Overall i highly recommend dining here.

Great Seafood, Amazing Service - Ask for Jonesy – Our first trip to M&S was on our anniversary in late April of 07; I made our reservation using opentable dot com and left a note that we were celebrating our 7th anniversary. When we arrive we were escorted to a private table with curtains and then were handed their menus with a note printed on top wishing us a happy anniversary. It was classy and my wife thought I had put a considerable amount of time into planning this dinner, but I hadn't. My wife and I wanted Alaskan King Crab Legs, but they weren't in season. Our waiter told us to try back next February, so we immediately thought we would come back on Valentines Day 08. Our Anniversary dinner in 07 was fantastic, all I really remember now is how good the service and oysters were. Lucky for us when we went on Valentines Day this year we had the same server, Jonesy, and again he delivered a truly remarkable meal to my wife and I. I am not a chef, but I have over 10 years of professional cooking experience and I highly recommend M&S; ask for Jonesy and you won't be disappointed.
Don't waste your time – Read the reviews giving this place only 1 star. They are correct. I'd never been, was counting on the 4, 5-star experience, and was sadly disappointed. The ambiance is nothing special. The elevator music, the "pre-fab" decor - pure chain restaurant fare. The food - mussels as an app were "fishy" and disappointing, the filet was chewy, but with a good flavor, and the stuffed shrimp left a bit to be desired. My boyfriend had the crab legs - again, we'd had far better.
Worse yet, the waitress kept trying to shove the "McCormick and Schmick's" cookbook down our throats for the low, low price of $20. Ugh - what an ironic item to sell; the food is hardly worth replicating! The wait staff had that "corporate" up-sell mentality that doesn't know when to give up and just let the diners enjoy dinner.
Absolutely not worth the time. If you're in the neighborhood, try Gumbo's and skip this overpriced slophouse.
The Best Dining In Austin – My wife is a chef, and we are quite picky, consequently, in our dining. This restaurant is always the staple for our favorite dining choice, as much as we continue to branch out, we continue to return to McCormick's...First, there is no freezer. The seafood is flown in daily and the menu is then printed accordingly as to what they have fresh that day. Second, I think the easiest way to review it is to simply say on every other restaurant to which we return, we find that some things are a success and some are a miss. Not true here. The chef has our accolades. We have yet to experience any meal that wasn't only cooked to perfection, but the sauces are simply brilliant as well. In most cases, we prefer what we cook at home. Dining here holds the opposite effect...we like it MORE, I must say. The staff is perfectly attentive and friendly, it is the one place we always take guests, and as much as we try other restaurants, it remains our first love here in Austin. We have yet to bite into any appetizer, entree or dessert that we don't say "Oh my God!" And what more can be said than that? Impeccable...and we are picky. The chef truly concentrates on each element. We remain impressed.
Thanks for the side of Botulism – This was literally the wost meal I have had in at least the past year, if not 2. From the moment we sat down, the paper placemat and the offer of "tap" water set the tone. From there, we were served what could at best be desribed as mildly warm crabcakes that tasted slightly off. My stuffed salmon was raw in the middle...but no where else and was not described as "served medium rare" or anything like that on the menu. I was not asked how I liked my salmon and upon discovery of the rare center, my waiter then asked if I liked my salmon that way. Way to ask me after you've served my meal. He did offer to take it back and cook it to my liking, but at that point, we just wanted to get the check and get out of there. Overall, the menu is predicitable but the food was suprisingly bad. I would not recommend this place and have made a point to tell everyone how much we disliked it. I asked somone today if they had been there and while they had not, they mentioned that they "know I lot of people that have been once, no one that has been twice". That about sums it up.
High end seafood delivers high end service, food at commensurate prices. Great happy hour deals! – Moving from DC where we enjoyed their DC and Bethesda branches, the food and service was very consistent. It's not a dinner place for those light of pocketbooks. You get what you pay for. There are better deals around town, but you won't get dissapointed with a business dinner/lunch or a date out to this place. A lot of fresh seafood every day and the lobster bisque was superb (not as tasty as another local place that has good happy hour deals, but it doesn't taste like it uses nearly the same amount of salt and butter. ie...healthier alternative).
The happy hour really shines through although you have to sit in the bar area which can get crowded and a bit loud. Prices during happy hour are SUBSTANTIALLY less. A 1/2 lb hamburger results in a low $3 deal. Tasty calimari is half the price from sitting in the upscale back room/dinner section.
Located in the Frost tower building, valet parking for $5 is decent. Finding street parking around here during dinner time is difficult unless you park in a local garage.
